"This isn't just a coincidence, right?"
It was a Sunday morning, the time when she would usually take longer naps or walk around the block. She should've smelt the sweet scent of hot chocolate and gaze out the window to see the magnificent view of flowers in different sizes. Her ears should have heard the usual chirping of the birds that visited her doorstep once it was seven-o'-clock.
But like always, if only.
What she saw in front of her eyes once she stepped out of the inn was a familiar child, not even the age of thirteen, stand outside the 'doorstep' and whining. Her short, coral hair was tied up in pigtails, her eyes emerald green and her stance somewhat sassy gave (Y/n) a frown.
"...Killjoy," (Y/n) groaned as she turned around to slide the doors closed. "This inn doesn't let children sleep and eat for free, y'know."
"WAIT!" The child shouted as she rushed to the doors to stop her. (Y/n) furrowed her eyebrows and squatted in front of her before patting her head. "D-Don't start patting my head, you meanie! I didn't come here for no reason! Ms. (L/n) told me to get you!"
"..."
"(Y/n)! Say something!"
(Y/n) clicked her tongue and placed a finger on her lips to get the child to be quiet, before rummaging her pockets to find some cheap candy. "Shh, I'll give you this candy, so can you...be quiet for a moment?"
She gave (Y/n) a glare before snatching the cheap candy from her grasp, unwrapping it and popping it in her mouth. The scowl changed into a carefree grin as she savoured the taste. "Hehehe...thank you as always, (Y/n)-- wait! I shouldn't be accepting this! (Y/n), you're coming back with me!"
A groan escaped (Y/n)'s lips as she was caught entering the inn once again, turning back and looking down. "Kid, I gotta tell you this, but your height is straining my neck. I don't know who this (Y/n) is, so you might've gotten the wrong person. Do you want me to search for your parents or something?"
"The wrong person!? I would never make such a mistake!" The child rummaged her pockets before showing a piece of paper to (Y/n). "Look~! Ms. (L/n) gave me this picture of you so I can find you...oh! And the address, too! So, there's no mistake that you're (Y/n)...
Right?"
"Why'd you sound so unsure at the end?" (Y/n) sighed before taking the picture and looking at it. She furrowed her eyebrows once again to see a girl with platinum blonde hair wearing a white gown and black mini-hat, smiling widely. "Anyhow, she might look like me, but I'm a guy. I don't know what when wrong with your eyes, but you should get them checked, kid."
"Don't keep calling me kid! You know my name, don't you!? Ahaha, lucky for me, Ms. (L/n) had told me everything about your plan! You know, the one about acting as a boy!"
"Holy chicken nuggets, you could've just said that from the start..." (Y/n) muttered as she rubbed the back of her neck. "I don't know why she wants me back, but there's no way I'm going. I have a job here, and if you want to become a successful businesswoman in this harsh world, you gotta learn from me. I can't go back-- I can't turn back, so just send one of our men back with you to ensure your safety."
A man in a black suit and thick glasses stood behind the child as (Y/n) grinned. "Hey, Bob~ You mind taking her back?"
"I said this for a long time already, even if it's been a while, but my name is nowhere near 'Bob'," he said monotonously before holding a card out. She looked at it before she hummed. "It's Billy."
An irk mark appeared on he side of her head as she bit her lip and tightened her fists. What's the frickin difference!?
"As I was saying, Billy-Bob, I don't appreciate you ruining my seven-fifteenth hour of the morning without my consent," she perked her eyes at the tall man before poking his chest rudely with her index finger multiple times. "Before anything happens, I'd like you to return with Misaki back where you came from and not bug me with...unnecessary problems."
