I rolled to the side of my bed, grabbed my phone and answered.
"Hey Kyoto! Wanna hit the mall with me? I'm sure your mom wouldn't mind!" My cheerful friend asked.
"I don't know Yuki. I'd have to ask my parents." I respond and she sighs.
"Just tell your mom you'll be out."
"I'll just ask." I say and pull out my phone away from my ear.
I shout my question from my room and surprisingly get an okay.
"Yeah I can come." I answer and she squeals.
"Yay! I'll pick you up!" She cheers as she hangs up. I give a small sigh.
This was not how I wanted to spend my Saturday.
I, Kyoto, wanted to stay inside where it's safe, eat, play video games, and watch my beloved anime.
I guess this is fine.
~
"Hey Yuki is that a wishing fountain?" I ask as I squint. Way to help out glasses.
"Hm? Oh yeah but those things never work." She says as she types on her phone.
"Let's go make a wish!" I say.
"What? Why? It's never gonna come true."
"Awe c'mon! It's worth a try!"
"Fine." She says and stuffs her phone in her back pocket.
We made our way to the fountain and I pulled out a nickel.
I wish on it, kiss it, blow on it, shake it between my hands, and toss it in.
"You know adding extra stuff isn't going to help? This is just another way of cheap income for them." Yuki sighs.
"One day." I say.
"Anyways what'd you wish for? I wished for a hot guy this year!" She giggled.
"Haha so did I!" I fake laugh.
That's a lie. I'm just too embarrassed to tell. What I really wished for was to be in the anime I watch. All the romance ones where the girl has all these guys that are amazing. It'd be cool to be like that.
Psh I sound so dumb right now...
~
I cuddle into bed and stare at my ceiling, thinking about my wish.
What if I really could?
Oh c'mon Kyoto! This is reality!
But what if!
Then it'd be amazing!
I clenched my head as my head hurt, arguing with myself.
A sigh escaped my lips and I slowly felt my eyes become heavy...
~
"Kyoto...Kyoto wake up..."
I heard someone say. My eyes fluttered open and I was in a field of cherry blossoms.
How pretty, I thought.
"Kyoto darling...come here...", the same voice called. I turned around and saw a most beautiful woman.
I walked to her and when I was closer I saw more of what she looked like.
She had golden yellow hair with emerald green eyes that dazzled. The woman had on a white dress that was sprinkled with blossoms.
"Kyoto.." she called again.
"Yes?" I answered.
"Do you believe in wishes?" She asks.
"Yes... I do."
"Hm...You made a wish today correct?"
"Yes, I did. At the mall with Yuki."
"Well would you like your wish granted?"
I was stunned. My...my wish was going to come true!?
"Y-Yes! I'd love it if it could!"
"Then I will grant it, but you will only stay for a month. After the month I will bring you back here. No time will pass in this world when you are present in the other."
I nod.
"Are you ready my darling?"
I breathe in then out.
"Yes!"
The lady smiled and snapped her fingers.
Suddenly it was all blank. No more cherry blossoms.
"Kyoto..." someone called.
"Kyoto..." they called again.
I then opened my eyes to reveal the same woman.
"Kyoto it's time to wake up." She said.
"Huh...where am I?" I asked as I stood up. I took a look around and it seemed like I was in a bedroom.
"You're in your own anime." She answers and I brake.
"My own anime?" I ask.
"Mhm. Remember, I granted your wish last night."
"Y-You did?! So I wasn't just dreaming!?"
"No it's all real, now hurry along, today is an important day." She says and walks out of the room.
Important...day?
