After we had been together for four years, I asked for you hand in marriage with a golden ring. We had spent the day walking around the city, looking at old buildings and walking around parks. I took you to a free concert and had tortillas for lunch. In the afternoon, which the sun was setting, I took you to an outside cinema and we watched The Notebook, which I thought was girlish but you loved. We went to the park close to home which overlooked the river. There were fireworks across the river, but I hadn't planned that. They were just there. You loved it. It was the perfect opportunity. I asked you to marry me at 2:03 am that night.
