C H A P T E R 1

I never really liked school, I was the one that was always alone. I was always the one that was interesting. I was always 'Living in The Shadows' or LiTS as I call it. People never really understood me, it might have been because they saw me as a creepy, weird emo girl, or it might be that fact that I don't socialize that much...

"Hotaru? It's time for school, Honey!" My step-mother called.

"Coming!"

My mother died when I was younger, my father fell into a deep depression, but soon got out of it when he met my step-mother. They both love me very much, I can tell because I see how people feel about others, I earned or harnessed this power when I was growing up. Shortly after they got married, my father fell ill and died. Now it's just me and my step-mother. We moved because we didn't need that much space for the two of us. Now we live in the small town of Sakaru Yuki [A/N I couldn't think of any names XD sorry!].

I waved good bye to my mother and left home, as always I have my book next to me.

"Hey Loser!" was the fist thing I heard when I got to the school. I turned around to see who it was, and with no surprise it was the 'Princess' of this village.

"Oh look! wow should I bow down to you your

highness?"

I smirked, Wow great comeback Hotaru! now watch her ruin you!

"Don't you dare make fun of me! I am Yuki Taku! Princess of this Village!"

"Yuki Taku, you do know that your father has that roll of king beca-"

I was interrupted by an IDIOT!

"Ryuu!"

"Ew! The stink face is here! Ugh! I'm leaving"

"How rude can she be?"

"Who knows Firefly?"

"Don't call me that"

"Hey Ryuu?"

"What?"

"Do you think I'm like weird?"

"hm besides the fact that your in a school of crossblends, nope you are not weird"

I started to giggle. Then We both started to laugh uncontrollably.

This is Ryuu, my best friend, we have know each other since we were young, Remember when I said I was going to a Normal school? Well, no we are in a School of CrossBlends, we are the most valued people of the earth, well that's because of our powers.

"Aru? Hotaru?"

"What? huh? what's happening?"

"ya spaced out for a minute"

"Whatever, we are gonna be late for class, come on let's go!"

As I arrived to my class I saw The 'princess' on the throne chair, like always.

The class dragged on and I was bored as hell, from the corner of my eye I saw a red thread. A red thread of Fate. I have to go follow it.

"May I use the bathroom?"

"Yes you may Miss Hotaru"

I rushed to see who's thread it was, I chased them around the school, then I realized that I needed to go back to class. Damn it!

At the end of the day I rode the bus home with Ryuu, I didn't pay attention to what he was saying, on my mind was 'Whos thread was that'

Dear Book of Strings

well that sounds better, well I saw a thread today, I mean I used to see them all around when I was small but now I nearly see them, I wonder why though...
