The wind blew gently as Daniel stood by the road side waiting for a cab. Checking his home it was 7:45am
"Oh my God I'm late again" he exclaimed. Almost immediately a cab arrived "Hey wait up, Hilton High" he said, "that's two dollars hop in" they bargained.
****In school ****
"Why are you late again Mr Hopkins?" the history teacher asked Daniel as he walked into history class. " I'm sorry, I woke up late" he replied.
"Off to your seat then come see me after the class" the history teacher said as she commenced the class.
"Hey Dan" someone whispered jolting him out of reverie.
"Hi Emmy" moving his chair closer to him. Emmy has been his childhood friend also knowledge about his powers.
"What's wrong man you always late" Emmy was trying to ask as interrupted by the sonorous voice of the history teacher, Miss Betty.
"Today, our topic is the Gatekeeper, as we've been discussing ancient history of magic and it's existence. She said
Gatekeeper, the word rang a bell on Daniel's head, he knew he heard the name somewhere, either a book or his dream.
"The Gatekeeper is the key to the other world, where all the evil I'd the world are shut. He died a long time ago during the cervical war when he used all his energy to close the other world " she explained.
"Dan, it's time we'd miss the competition if we stayed any longer" Emmy said.
" Alright, let's move but let's find a way to go out" Daniel also suggested. Fortunately luck was on their side. "And we'll call it a day class, I've to go. See you guys next week" she left the class
As Emmy walked up to Daniel sitting beside him "you know Daniel, I wonder why only you has these powers" he asked. Daniel was a bit angered but they both laughed it off as they walked to the field.
