Let's Clear Something Up

This is to sort out some confusion. I have made this with a list of the werewolf world things that some people might get confused about what I mean. So, without further ado, let's get started.

Werewolf- A half-human half-wolf. No, they do NOT grow hair in random places or only come out on full moons. They can shift at any time into a large wolf. Some wolves are bigger than others, depending on their rank. Humans have no idea they exist and werewolves try to keep it that way. There are both male and female werewolves.

Mate- A mate is just like a soulmate. You don't get to choose who they are as the Moon Goddess has made you both specifically for each other. Once you see them you will instantly know they are your mates as long as both mates have shifted or just turned 17. If one mate has shifted or is 17 before the other, only the older one will know that thry are mates. They both love each other and are bound to spend the rest of their lives together. If one of the two dies then the other will die as well, its like losing part of your soul. Mates are usually between two werewolves of any rank but they can also be between a human and a werewolf.

Pack- The pack of wolves is a large family with different hierarchy. Just like an actual wolf pack, there is a leader. Hundreds of packs are all over the world, all ranging in sizes.

Pack land- The pack land is a piece of land that varies in size based on how many pack members there are and is normally in or around a forest. Some pack lands can cover small villages or towns that are normally occupied by werewolves but occasionally humans too. On the pack land is a pack house. The pack house contains teenagers to young adults that are mostly without mates or without pups. There are normally surrounding houses for growing families and a larger house for the Alpha and Luna. Sometimes, the Alpha and Luna will decide to live in the pack house.

Moon Goddess- The Moon Goddess is the creator of all things werewolf. Everyone worships her and no-one is to disrespect her. Her name should be capitalised.

Alpha- The leader of a pack. He (sometimes she but very rarely) controls everything that happens in the pack. The Alphas are deeply respected by the entire pack and no one dares go against their words. Their name should be capitalised.

Luna- She is the mate of the Alpha. She is the only person that is equal to the Alpha. They work together as a team and will always be there for one another. The Alpha and Luna will create heirs to the Alpha line together. Their name should be capitalised.

Beta- The second in command. A Beta takes charge of the pack when the Alpha is visiting other packs or not able to take the Alpha role. They will also protect the Luna with their life. The Alpha and Beta work alongside each other so are usually best friends. Their name should be capitalised.

Shift- A shift is when the human side shifts to their wolf side. From wolf to human it is shifting back. The first time someone shifts can be an incredibly long and painful process, sometimes lasting for hours on end.

Rogue- A rogue is a werewolf that doesn't have a pack and just floats around with the humans. Some rogues are evil and try to overthrow Alphas.

Mindlink- Sometimes also called 'the link'. A mental chat between two or more werewolves. They can communicate through this but only if they are part of the same pack. A rogue cannot mind-link a wolf in a pack and the other way round. The only way for two werewolves to mind-link each other when they aren't in the same pack is if they are mated to one another WITH a mark. A mindlink can only work within a certain distance. To far apart and the connection will be lost.

Mark- A mark is a bite in the skin that a male and female do to each other that scars to let other, unmated males or females know that they cannot try and mate with them. The mark also allows them to hear each others thoughts when they try to listen to them unless the other person has blocked them out. They can feel each other's pain when they are not blocked out.
