POSTLUDE

HUMINGA ng malalim si Elijah. Pilit pinapaamo ang kabang nadarama sa dibdib.

         He stood behind the microphone stand. Hinawakan niya ang mikropono at saka pinikit ang mga mata. The lights in that stage are all off. Pagkabukas ng spotlight ay kailangan niya nang kumanta para sa daan-daang kabataang inaya nila para sa gabing iyon.

         His parents will be watching on the side. Bahagyang tumaas ang gilid ng labi niya. Mula noon hanggang ngayon, suportado siya ng mga magulang sa pagkanta. He's just sixteen, but tonight, he'll sing for his generation.

         "Go, Kuya Elijah!" he heard his sister Ahava cheered.

         Agad niyang narinig ang pinagtamang tunog ng drumstick. The spotlight opened.

         For you, Jesus. Let Your love be heard tonight.

         "Through You, I can do anything..." he sang without the instruments. "I can do all things 'cause it's you who gives me strength... Nothing is impossible..."

         "Hooo! Kuya ko 'yan, kuya ko 'yan!"

         "Ate Hav, 'wag kang maingay," saway ng bunso nilang kapatid na si Tomi.

         "Through You, blind eyes are open, strong holds are broken..." Tumingala si Elijah at binuksan ang mga mata. This voice is a gift from above. He will return the glory by singing for Him. "I am living by faith... Nothing is impossible!"

         Doon bumukas ang makukulay ng ilaw at nag-umpisa ang pagtutog ng electric guitar, drums, at keyboard. Mula sa baba ng stage ay nakita niyang tumatalon-talon na si Ahava at Tomi kasabay sa beat ng kanta.

         Pumapalakpak-palakpak ang maganda niyang ina habang nakangiting pinapanood lang siya ng ama.

         The people sang with him and raised their hands in the air.

         "I'm not gonna live by what I see..." Napangiti si Elijah at mas inilapit ang mikropono sa mga labi. "I'm not gonna live by what I feel..." Tinapat niya ang isang kamay sa dibdib. "Deep down I know that You're here with me... I know that, You can do anything!"

         His parents taught him that the Lord is always present in every situation of our lives. Every happy and good moments. At lalo na sa mga panahong lagapak at tila nag-iisa ang pakiramdam ng isang tao. Iyong bang tila hindi na makakaahon sa kalungkutan iyon... 'yong akala ay walang makakaintindi at walang kakampi.

         But then, you can rise up from the helplessness and hopelessness. You can't forever be stuck from the bottom. Kahit akala mo ay hindi ka na makaaahon dahil wala ka ng lakas... Ngunit hindi pansariling lakas ang ginagamit. It will never be enough. The strength to overcome should be from the One who defeated even death.

         The music got louder and the people down the stage are now dancing.

         "Through You, I can do anything! I can do all things. Cause it's You who gives me strength. Nothing is impossible!
Through You, blind eyes are opened, strongholds are broken..."

         Elijah can only pray that his voice be used by the Lord to open the hearts of these young people like him. He's just so grateful that he grew up in a home where Christ in the center. His Mommy and Daddy never failed to teach their how to be better and Godly people of this time.

         Pasaway lang talaga si Hav at kahit papaano ay mabait naman si Tomi.

         "I am living by faith." He truly is. "Nothing is impossible!"
