Erika's POV
I haven't seen Jake since we were supposed to go on our first date. That was three weeks ago.We text everyday but I can just feel the awkwardness in our conversations. I invite my best friends Courtney Shannon and Sunny over to ask them for advice. Only Courtney shows up,but it's fine because she knows the most about relationships. "Hey court" "Hey Rik. You said you needed advice on something what is it?" "There is this guy. And we really like each other but he keeps saying his life is complicated. I don't know what to do. "I confessed
"Complicated usually means that there is another girl Erika." Assuming she was right I went to the restaurant Jake works at. I stormed inside to find the whole place empty except for Jake cleaning the bar. "There's another girl isn't there" I said. Jake turned around in shock. "Yes Erika there is another girl. She means the absolute world to me." He said "I knew it. You have a girlfriend" "Erika I don't have a girlfriend. Sit I'll make something in the kitchen for you" Jake said. I didn't know if I should trust it but I did anyway. Jake walked out with two dinner plates that looked freakin AMAZING. "So you can cook too" I joked "yea my brother Logan and I learned a couple years ago" he said "oh cool I actually can't cook myself since I've been living with my parents my whole life." "I would love to teach you sometime" he said "that would be so much fun." I said. We had amazing conversations we laughed so hard that our chests hurt and I truly felt like Jake was my boyfriend. Then Jake leaned in to kiss me. I kissed back until I realized the reason I came here in the first place. I pulled away, "Jake who's the other girl?" His face seemed to get somber for a second and he got all shy. I barely heard him say "Erika I have a daughter"......To be continued
