Grier Johnson has it all, the good looks, rich and famous parents, and she's the most popular girl at St. Agnes High. Although she appears superficial and onesided to everyone at school, she often finds herself in a hole when she can't express who...
When I got home, I printed out the lyrics and jumped on my bed.
"Everett, chill out!" My mom yelled as I plugged the earbuds into my computer to avoid questions from my family
Alright, Gray, let's see what you think.
I took a deep breath and pressed play.
Everybody needs inspiration Everybody needs a song A beautiful melody When the nights are long
She was always good with figures of speech and putting words together.
'Cause there is no guarantee That this life is easy
Sure the hell isn't.
Yeah when my world is falling apart When there's no light To break up the dark That's when I, I I look at you
Oh my gosh. I could feel my heart racing. Who would have thought that Grier would have written this for me?
When the waves are flooding the shore And I can't find my way home anymore That's when I, I I look at you
Never in a million years would I have thought that Grier Johnson would have written such an endearing song. Sure it was a response to my song, but she was thinking of me while writing it and that's all that mattered.
When I look at you I see forgiveness I see the truth You like me for who I am Like the stars hold the moon Right there where they belong And I know I'm not alone
My heart sped up even more.
Did she really?
Forgiveness for me forgiving her after her being a bitch for so long.
The truth for being one of the only people who knew her.
I did like her for who she was, I truly did.
I was proud of myself for being there for her and that she didn't feel alone anymore, that was a big deal and a big step
Yeah when my world is falling apart When there's no light To break up the dark That's when I, I I look at you
When the waves are flooding the shore And I can't find my way home anymore That's when I, I I look at you
You appear just like a dream to me Just like kaleidoscope colors that cover me All I need Every breath that I breathe Don't you know you're beautiful Yeah, yeah, yeah
When the waves are flooding the shore And I can't find my way home anymore That's when I, I I look at you
I look at you Yeah, Whoa-oh, You appear just like a dream to me
I replayed the song over and over again and just imagined Grier on the end of my bed singing to me as she played the guitar.
I realized that she wasn't just playing me, that I wasn't some kind of joke to her, I made a difference in Grier's life.
I meant something to her and she damn sure meant something to me.
It was like I had an epiphanic moment as I pulled out my phone.
