Part Ten

The moon shone brightly illuminating Aditi's face. She trembled in the cold, her vision blurry, her legs wobbled beneath her.
She couldnt remember the last time she had ate, or slept well, but since the cast wanted to go for a walk, she didnt want to be left behind.
She saw Zain walking closer, she didnt want to speak to him, not right now.

Her stomach churned and then she was falling, her foot slipping back on the mud.
"Aditi" Zain shouted, grabbing her waist, they span and fell down the hill, they rolled over one another till they reached the bottom.
With a thud Aditi landed ontop of him right at the bottom
"Aditi, you're freezing" he muttered, sitting up he pulled her to him
"Where is everyone" she asked, her teeth chattering
"Don't you worry about them, why did you come with us if you were unwell"

"Didn't want to be left out" she muttered, she grabbed his hand, her nails digging into his skin as another wave of dizziness hit her.
Zain took off his jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders, "Come on, can you walk up the hill"
She nodded, then realised that sudden movement was a bad idea when she stood up and fell into his arms
"Okay, okay lets just take the path" he helped her down, an arm tight around her waist as they began to walk
Her face was on his chest as he moved her infront of him so if she fell, she wouldnt get hurt

Her breath on his neck was making his pulse speed up.
She rested her hands on his strong arms, resting her body into his, she took deep breaths trying to make the sickness go away
"Okay, that cafe is open so we're going there okay"
Zain propped her on a seat "2 teas please"
The man nodded and began to make it
He pulled her shoes off, his hands worked fast rubbing her feet
He noted how pale she looked "Aditi, talk to me"
"About what" she groaned

"Just anything, okay ill talk you reply"
Aditi nodded slowly, then her head dropped back
"Shit" he stood up, picking her up, he sat her on his lap, tapping her cheek
"You're so warm" she whispered
He chuckled, rubbing her arm "We need to get you out of these clothes"
He passed her the tea and waited for her to drink it
"My house isnt far, we will go there" he quickly text Jahaan to tell him then picked her back up

Zain placed Aditi down, he passed her his t-shirt "Ill be just outside, call if you need me"
Aditi changed slowly, keeping her leggings on, she pulled the t-shirt over her body after removing her wet clothes
"Zain"
He opened the door and picked up her wet clothes, throwing it in a basket
"Do you want something to eat"
The thought of food alone was enough to make her want to be sick "No thanks"
He touched her head "Youre boiling, I think I need to call a doctor"
"No, im fine, just talk to me"

Zain made a face but agreed, he led her down, "So, any idea why you're ill"
"Been so busy I keep forgetting to eat"
Zain stood up "Okay, you're eating now"
He walked to the kitchen, pushing some toast down in the toaster, he came back with it after buttering it and helped her sit up
She pouted "Do I have to"
He froze for a second, she was adorable
"Yes"
She held her hand out for the plate and began to eat slowly
"Thank you for all youve done for me tonight"
He nodded "Thats more than okay, thats what"

He was going to say, that's what friends do, but he really didnt fancy putting himself in the friendzone
"Thats what" she gestured with her hand for him to continue
"Thats what I do"
"Thats what you do" she asked "What does that mean"
"I mean thats what any good guy would do, right"
Aditi reached for her phone quickly, guilt washing over her at not having messaged her mystery man back

"Something bothering you" asked Zain
Aditi shook her head "No, just forgot to reply to uh, my friend"
Zain's eyes lit up at the hesitation, that meant she also wanted more than friendship
He leaned closer making her shuffle back "So, who's this friend of yours"
"Uh just someone I met"
She looked down at his fingers running up and down her arm and jumped back
"Is this a special someone"
"Not uh, not yet" she stuttered

She continued to lean back, eventually lying down on the bed, he loomed over her "Nervous Aditi"
"Uh no I just"
"Just what"
She swallowed thickly "Why are you taking so much interest in me now"
He paused, his eyes narrowing, he wondered how anyone could not notice her, whether it was how her eyes shone when she smiled or the way her laugh lit up a whole room.
It was how she was delicate and fragile yet still a force to be reckoned with.

"Are you blind"
"Excuse me" she gasped, her cheeks flushed with anger
"Do you not see how many people take an avid interest in you"
Her cheeks darkened, this time not because of anger
"No" she shook her head "Theres nothing"
He put his hand over her mouth "Shh, I dont want to hear it, I find you interesting"
He pulled himself up straight and she sat up, facing him
"Thanks" she put her head down, muttering again in a language he didnt understand

"Again with the nervous muttering" he asked, a brow raised
"No, I just, im just tired is all, goodnight" she led down, pulling the covers over herself
She froze as she felt his lips on her hair "Goodnight Aditi"
Then he was gone, leaving Aditi alone to try and calm her racing heart
