Chapter 15

Lance's Pov

I immediately call Riccardo.

"Yo."

"Come to house now... There is something I want to announce to everyone and your are not going to want to miss it."

"I'll be there." I make a final pit stop to see Alex. He is sitting on bench as he waits for me.

"I got your call." Alex says. I sit next to him and look down. I must say I am pretty proud of myself. If you had told me that I would be calling the Jackal's alpha to sit and chat I would have called you a liar.

"You weren't lying right? You and my dad?"

"It's the truth." He says.

"Everything is starting to all make sense now." He sits up.

"I know you are probably angry and confused by all this...I am willing to tell you eveything you want to know."

"I intend to, just not now. I want to apologize about Marcus and your son." He nods.

"I'm am older and I don't have time to raise another kid. Ben was everything to me and so was Ollie."

"Ollie?"

"The nickname I gave your father. Oliver was just too... I don't know nerdy maybe?" I chuckle at his comment. I must say as gang leader to have the name Oliver that's kind of bad but I feel like Ollie is even worse.

"What are you going to do with the Vipers?" Alex asks me. "I feel like whatever decision you make will be fine. You have a good head on your shoulders... You remind me of your father. I'm willing to work with you."

" I do have something in mind." He looks at me curiously.

I finally pull up into the house and see the vipers in a panic and rightfully so Marcus is dead and they need a new leader. Riccardo is all ready there when he sees me he grabs me to the side.

"What hell is going on?" Whispers Riccardo. I face the group and they all grow quiet.

"Im here to talk to everyone about who is the next leader of this group." Everyone listens up.

" I am giving up my rights as a viper leader." Everyone looks at me confused.

"What the hell?" Says Riccardo.

"To whom?!" One of the men asks.

Alex walks through the door. "Me." He says. The vipers are in and uproar. Riccardo yells at every one to shut up.

" I have no reason to object! I know that I can't beat him a knife fight so I am surrendering now. If you want to go against him be my guest..." No one says anything. I figured this would be the outcome.

" And what about you?" asks one of the men. "I am leaving to go to college." I turn to Riccardo. "And so are you." Riccardo's eyes widen. I hand him the letter that Marcus wrote to me.

Dear Lance,

I am sorry as a older brother I have failed you. Things didn't turn out the way it should be and I am ashamed that relationship has not been the best. I heard you got a girlfriend. I hear she is pretty smart too... That's good.

I have to come clean to you. I was angry because father obviously loved you more than me. He cherished you more which makes me think that's the reason why you are they way you are. Father would be disappointed in the man I have become. But you have always made him proud and don't want the Vipers to change that. My final wish as Viper leader, is that you get out St. Rainer go to school and do what you love with the ones you love.

Take Riccardo with you... Poor Bastard is too smart for his own good.

I trust you know what best for the Vipers when I am gone.

Dad would be proud.

When I gave Alex control of everything he absorbed the Vipers and gave a new name to the gang. He named it the Brotherhood. Ever since then shootings and fights have gone down in school and in the town. They even brought our town curfew back to 11:00pm.
