"Ate Bea! San ka galing?"
Bea was quickly running to her teammates, a dozen-pack of Gatorade in hand and a box of Ferrero Rocher chocolates lying on top of it, her gym bag was barely even hanging on her shoulder because of all the running. She was late to morning practice and she knows she's about to get a scolding from Coach Tai so she settles the goods she brought and dropped her gym bag on the bleachers.
"We had no water for some reason kaya late na kong nakaligo," Bea quickly tells her junior Dani who was well-known for always being early to practice.
Dali-dali syang nagwarm-up bago pumunta sa iba nyang mga teammates to catch up on drills. While doing so, she hears her coach yelling her name and many other things that translate to 'why are you late?!'. Bea loves the grind from trainings kaya kahit Saturday ngayon at tumatagal ng 4-5 hours yung training nila, it still felt like the normal 2 hours for her.
"Girls, I brought gatorade!" her voice echoes inside the quiet gym when training ended. "You can get some if you want."
"Gatorade again Bei?" tanong ni Kat, grabbing one bottle.
"Napapadalas na ang pagdadala mo nito ah. Endorser benefits?" Maddie speaks up and the team laughs along.
"Actually, they're not mine," Bea tells them, drinking her whole bottle in one go.
"What do you mean ate?" Dani, who was sitting beside her sa bleachers, asks.
"For the past two weeks kasi, every time I wake up-- as in every time-- nakikita ko yang mga yan sa dining table namin. Tas ang laging sinasabi lang ni mama sa labas nya lang daw ng gate yan nakikita, hindi na nya naaabutan kung sino ang nagbibigay," she explains to her teammates who were patiently listening.
"Ayeee! May manliligaw ka na naman bhe!" Jho speaks up for the first time today, at tulad ng nakasanayan ay inaasar na naman nya si Bea.
"Manliligaw ka dyan. Eh wala man lang sulat or whatever para malaman ko naman kung sino yung nagbibigay."
Sumali naman sa usapan si Ponggay, "Weee! I'm so excited for you! Nako kung ako yung iinterviewhin ng SnA for Dropball, sasabihin ko talagang NBSB ka na."
"Hoy! Hindi ko pa nga alam kung sino!"
The team laughs at Bea's defensiveness. They can't help but love the girly side of the BEAst.
Namalayan naman ni Bea na hindi kumuha si Dani ng Gatorade kaya inabutan niya ito ng isa. "Hindi ka pa kumuha. Eto oh."
"Nako ate, sawa na ko sa White Lightning. That's what kuya Thirdy always buys for us eh!" reklamo ng nakababata nyang teammate.
"Hala, arte nito," she puts back the drink. "Speaking of your devilish kuya, asan sya?"
"Ayun oh." Ngumuso naman si Dani and Bea looks to that direction. Her teammates greeted a fresh-looking Thirdy before he made his way straight to her.
"Magfreshen-up ka na nga. Lunch tayo," demand nya kay Bea.
"Wow. Si ate Bea niyaya, eh akong kapatid mo?" Dani butts in and gives her older brother puppy eyes.
"Susunduin ka kasi ni manong. May shoot ka pa mamaya diba." Thirdy looks at Bea again. "Dali na! Gutom na ko!"
"Eto na nga! Andaming reklamo," inirapan sya ni Bea before standing up and heading to the showers.
