Chapter 2: Exchanges

AGH! I'm so excited for today! Today is our 1 month anniversary and I couldn't be happier. Currently I was laying in bed while Jack was snuggled into me, still asleep. I groan softly and try to remove his head from my chest, which did not work. He tightened his grip around me and smiled. Of course he's awake. He giggle softly and lifts up his head, adjusting it so he's looking directly at me. "Good morning cutie." He says with his soft morning voice. I smile and kiss his forehead. "Morning noodles." I respond. He rakes his hand through my hair, earning a light hum from me. Jack laughed and crawled on top of me. "Yes?" I question. He smiles and pecks my lips. I roll my eyes and lightly push him off of me. He pouts and mumbles something to himself. I roll my eyes once more and get out of bed, only to be dragged down again by Jack. "Come on. Did you forget what day it is?" I ask. "Oh yeah!" He shouts, jumping off of our bed. "Stay here." He says. I nod and watch him go into our closet. I chuckle softly as I get out my present from our beside table drawers. It was gold chain that said 'Jack'. I tucked it in my pocket as he walked out of the closet, holding a Gucci bag. I gasp softly and shake my head. "You didn't have to." I say. "I wanted to." He responds with a smile. "Open it." He says, handing me the bag. I giggle and grab it from him, setting it on my lap. I look inside and see a small box. "I swear if you got what I got you." I mumble. I hear him laugh while I hesitantly take it the box. "It's not going to kill you, just open it." He smiles. I roll my eyes and open the box. As soon as I see it I gasp. "Jack, you really didn't have to." I say, holding up the ring. He holds out his hand and shows me the same one. "Look on the inside." He chuckles. I turn it and read the inside. 'Forever'. I put it on my finger and jump up on him. "Thank you!" I shout. I wrap my legs around his waist as he laughs and hugs me back. I lift my head off the crook of his neck and kiss him. He kisses back, smiling. "Okay now my turn." I say, getting off of him. He sets me down as I take the box out of my pocket. "Wow. It's a box." He says with a sarcastic tone, a huge grin on his face. I playfully punch his arm and laugh. "Just open it." I say. He laughs again and opens it, taking the chain slowly out of the box. He gasped and stared at it. "Zach, is this- is this real?" He questions. I nod and he gasps again, tears now in his eyes. "Zach, you didn't have to." He says, wiping his eyes. "But I wanted to." I mocked him. He rolls his eyes while he puts it on. "Thank you so much." He smiles. "You're welcome." I respond. And with that, he does the same thing I did. He leaps into my arms and wraps his legs around my waist, his head in the crook of my neck. I smile and hug him back, holding him up. "Today is going to be great." I smile. He nods and lifts his head. He kisses my lips softly and I kiss back.

Today is good.

Today will be good.
