Alex walked in and flopped down on the couch, head rolling around to see his best friend next to him. God she's so beautiful, he thought to himself. He let a lazy grin fall onto his face. "Sooooo, Jo, how's the prettiest person in the world doing today?"
A quick glance from the corner of her eye confirmed that Alex was in fact wearing that god-awful shirt again. Why, oh why, does he wear that shirt? To torture me? And why does it have to be so tight and fitting? He's so gorgeous it's going to kill me someday, Joelle thought to herself. Without missing a beat or turning to look at him, she replied in what she hoped was a casual voice. "I don't know, how are you today?"
Alex paused, going a dark shade of red. As he answered, his voice cracked a bit but Jo pretended not to notice. "I'm fine."
She giggled and turned to the gorgeous man who was now sitting up straight with the cutest smile on his face. "There's your answer then. Coffee?"
Alex grinned softly as he took the cup from her. One day, he vowed, I'm going to marry that woman.
