“Woah,” Kaitlyn said. “That’s awesome. I wonder what mine will look like.”

“Don’t be so optimistic about getting one.” James shook his head. “It hurts like a bitch,” Everyone started to laugh and James joined in on the fun, until he remembered that Leila was still trying to awaken Naomi, and Noah was still laying unconscious next to him.

“Do you think he’ll be okay?” James questioned.

“If Leila wakes up Naomi in time.. Then he’ll be fine.” Gabe replied.

     “What time is it?”

     Gabe took his phone out.

     “11:50pm. She’s got 10 minutes.”

Leila

As soon as she got to Naomi’s sleeping bed Leila knew that The Man In White wasn’t kidding around. Naomi was moving around and moaning and groaning and calling out someone’s name, though she couldn't make out who’s it was.

“It’ll be okay..” Leila assured herself. “You can do this.” Right when she was about to begin, Naomi’s back arched upward, her eyes flying open, and she barely whispered a name. Though this time, Leila could hear perfectly who’s it was.

     Noah,”

     And her eyes shut again.

Naomi

She was suddenly in her cell. The same one where she drove herself insane waiting hours, days to be taken and put under a sleeping curse. She heard footsteps out in the hall outside of her cell, along with yells and shouts of insults. Then everything was quiet, and all she heard were keys opening her door.

     “Leila?” Naomi questioned.

“No, it’s me. Noah.” He smiled as she entered the cell.

“I’m so happy to see you,” She hugged him tight, and he hugged her back, laying his head on her shoulder.

“So am I,” He replied. “I’ll get you out of here.” He looked into her eyes, and Naomi knew that she loved him. She could feel it deep inside of her. He planted flowers in her chest, and she hoped he stayed long enough to watch them bloom.

“I love you,” Naomi smiled. And for once, she didn’t feel burdened to say that. She wasn’t afraid of him not saying it back. Because no matter what, loving him was the greatest adventure she’d ever been on.

“And I love you,” He kissed her, hard. With urgency and passion. In that moment, she felt her love for him could move mountains, even if his could barely move a pebble.

Suddenly Naomi jumped up, and her eyes were wide open. But her lips were no longer pressed against Noah’s. They were chapped, and dry.

“You’re awake. Good,” Noami heared Leila from beside her.

“What’s going on, Leila?” Naomi furrowed her eyebrows together.

“I’ll explain later. All you need to know now is that you’re free, and you need to come with me.” That was all Naomi got in response before Leila bolted in the opposite direction.

“Crap,” Naomi panted, trying her best to catch up.. “What’s so big of a deal that you had to wake me up?”

Sophia

Sophia’s eyes snapped open, finding it hard to breathe. She was gasping for air and she found that odd, because she was a Vampire.

     She shouldn’t have trouble breathing.

She heard a groan from next door. Whoever was next door sounded like they were in pain. Sophia got out of bed, and walked outside. She looked to the left, where the pained groan had come from. She knocked, but there was no answer.

“Hello? Are you okay?” Sophia was planning on returning to her dorm, but just as she felt a jolt of pain in her chest, she heard another groan come from the same room. This time louder. So she decided to barge in.

The second she walked through the door sshe felt a tug at her heart. Her heavy breathing stopped, and she looked around the room. Her eyes came in contact with a tan boy, laying on his bed. He was shaking and his eyes were wide open, trained on her.

“A–Are you alright?” Sophia rushed over to his bedside.

The boy stopped shaking the moment Sophia placed her quivering hand on his chest.

Their eyes met, and all of the air in the room seemed to be sucked from Sophia’s lungs.  They stood there for seconds, but it felt like hours. She looked into his eyes for so long, the piercing blue became her favorite color.

Before either of them could stop themselves, they were leaning in. Sophia stood up gently and sat on his bed, her hand caressing his face. His hand moved to her waist as he sat up, and her skin seemed to burn.  Their lips finally touched, and the boy moaned into her lips, and Sophia sighed in relief. She felt as if the weight of the world had been lifted off her shoulders, and even when he pulled away, the feeling of lightheadedness didn’t seem to fade.

“Sophia,” She said, almost out of breath.

     “Tyler,” He smiled.

     And they kissed again.

Leila

She had finally gotten Naomi back to where Noah was and he woke up, but Leila still felt like there was something wrong.

“Do you guys feel that?” The Man In White appeared behind the Royals.

     “Feel what?” Castiel asked

“Do you all feel lust? Do you feel desire? A desire that you’ve never felt before?”

They all stayed silent. Almost afraid of the answer.

“That’s the mate pull. The whole mate thing won’t be complete until midnight. At midnight you will feel a strong pull towards your mate, making you want to kiss them – be with them in any way. If you don’t, you’ll feel that desire until you’re with your mate for the first time.”

“Does everyone feel this?” Leila asked. The Man In White smiled at her, causing Leila’s cheeks to flush a deep red.

“No, just the people who are with their mates when the.. ‘transformation’ happens.” He shrugged. Leila looked at the time again, and it was midnight.

“Kiss now and you’ll all be fine,” The Man In White said. Leila suddenly felt a sickening desire. She looked at The Man In White, and he had the same look on his face she bet she had. She wanted so badly to close the distance between them and press her lips against his. But she was scared. ‘What if he doesn’t love me back?’

And although they were mates so, of course he loved her back, Leila couldn’t help but doubt herself. After countless hertache and hearing the same “Sorry, I just don’t feel that way about you,” Leila had learned to assume the worst before she assumed the best. And so she stood there, her desire growing by the second and her heart shattering at the same pace. Until The Man In White took the steps she was to afraid to take, and his lips collided with hers. His lips were soft and plump, and Leila wished she could kiss them indefinitely.

But sooner than she would’ve wanted he pulled away, leaving her with smeared lipstick and a wild beating heart.

“How do you always know what’s going to happen?” Leila asked him.

“If I told you,” He kissed her cheek. Leila’s eyes fluttered shut, trying to savor the moment. “It would ruin all the fun.”

Leila’s eyes opened at the sudden loss of contact, but he was already gone.
