"Mel I'm fine, I just got hit by the ball at softball practice," I nervously lied

"Yeah mmhm, sure" she murmured not buying my lie

"Okay look, let's just go to the party alright," I huffed out, so I could change the subject.

"Does this look okay?" I asked showing her my outfit. I had on Addidas joggers with a black shirt that was laced at the top.

"You look amaZING" she said dragging the zing in the last word.

"Speaking of amazing, you look hella good too," I said in awe

"Alright let's go," I said after applying a layer of lip gloss to my lips

At the party:
I walked into the big house. I instantly regretted coming when I seen Ethan in a doorway talking to someone. I couldn't see who he was talking to though. I was about to turn the corner until I seen him lean his head forward. He was kissing someone.

Anger filled my body as I walked over to their little make out session.

"Who in the hell are you?" I said in a angry tone to the buzzed girl

"I'm his girl, and you?", she answered back in a snobby tone

"Last time I checked I was with him, so what the hell are you doing kissing him" I said in defense

"Ethan tell her we're dating" she mumbled while playing with his hair

He gave me an unsure look and shrugged

I gave him a look of disgust

For the first time in three years, I wasn't afraid of him. I clenched my fist, pulled it back, and forcefully swung my hand into the side of his face. I started to quickly walk away. I walked out of the door. I started to walk down the street.

"Jessica !" I heard a familiar voice call from behind me; ethan

He grabbed my shoulder forcefully, turning me around abruptly. He started to drag me to the sidewalk.

"You know what Ethan, I suffered through your bullshit for three years, three years!" I shouted at him pushing his arm off of me. No longer fearing him.

He looked at my like I was crazy

"don't talk to me like-" he yelled but I cut him off before he could finish

"We're done, now go back to your other girl at the damn party," I spat

I walked away feeling his eyes on me the whole time
