She Wears Black

The dawn of certain doom
rests upon her face
but it casts the light of twilight
amidst the darkness
like a shadow of peace
a veil of silence
She wears dread and fear
and she moves across the planes
like a ghost
but under that gloom she has
the brightest eyes
icy and cold like winter skies
If she looked at you
you'd feel frost crawl down your spine
She wears the night
upon her back like a cape
The stars tangled within her hair and her fingers are white bones
like claws
She is a storm of wit and curiosity
A terrible monstrosity
and a beautiful serendipity
She wears my fate
I love her
I want her to envelope me with her mesmerizing light
and her moony eyes
I want her to take me
and keep me
for all eternity
I want to spend infinity
with her

Her name is Death
and she wears black
