Elder Maxson X Institute Leader

"Don't be Stupid. My time is up anyway. There's no point in defending a deadman." He said and you frowned as the building shook once again

"Please-" you tried "No, whoever it is that is in here...let them kill me. They don't know your involved with us." He said "Just-" he glared at you "They're coming. Hide. If something were to happen to us. You should avenge us." He said

"I can't leave you! There is no way they would let me out of here!" You cried

"Just stay strong. They're nearly here." He said and that's when you heard multiple gun shots and what sounded like.....a machine gun

"I-I can't do this!" You felt like you was going to have a heart attack and suddenly that's when you heard footsteps getting closer and you slowly backed away from the door so when they ran in you could easily just hold your gun upto their head

As they got closer and closer you could feel your heart beating rapidly, you clicked the safety off your gun and that's when a youngish looking man ran in with a ....Vault suit on? But before you could think about it properly the next person that walked in caused your eyes to widen in shock

Maxson...you snarled quietly as they neared Shaun

"You finally come here to kill me?" Shaun asked the youngish man "I didn't want it to come to this-" he said and you frowned in anger as you steadily aimed your gun at the youngish one but Shaun shook his head as he quickly glanced at you

"The Brotherhood really Father?" Shaun glared at his 'Father' and your eyes flew open in shock

FATHER?! how could he be his father? He is too young!

"Please Shaun..help me out here. What's the password for the terminal?" He asked "And why should I help you?" Shaun glared "Save some of your people, I don't want to hurt them."

Shaun quickly glanced at you and nodded just as he read out the password and the youngish one nodded at Maxson, telling him to type it in and suddenly you stepped out of the shadows and slammed your gun into the man's face making him drop to the floor, obviously unconscious and then you sneaked up behind Arthur and placed the barrel of the gun to his head making him freeze

"Arthur." You said, voice cold as you were disgusted in seeing the man who was once your friend

"(Y/N)?" He breathed and you stepped back so he could look at you and when he did his eyes widened in shock

"What...happened to you?" He asked "What are you talking about?" You asked "Working with the institute? Really?" He snarled in disgust "You misinterpret our intentions." You said "that's what all the Psychos say." He said and you frowned "Psychos? Seriously? We work to pre long life, not end it." You snapped "You've killed more people than us, The minutemen and the god damn Railroad put together!" He snapped

"No, we give people immortality." You growled in anger "You're sick." He looked disgusted as he looked his old friend up and down "No, I work to give people a longer life." You defended "You kidnap people, use them to create one of your sick inventions and then wipe their memory! That's not pre longing life."

"You can't talk. We aren't the only ones who kill people. You do too. So don't act like we're the only bad ones." You hissed "We Kill 'people' who need to be killed."

What actually attracted you to this man years ago? Honestly? Sure his style was nice...I mean, that battle coat...Wit woo. But apart from that you just-Uh!

You growled out in anger as you stared at him and he did the same back

"I see your cheating got you quite ahead." You said, venom dripping from your words "And I see that you still haven't got anywhere." He said and you scoffed

"Pathetic." You said "Pathetic? That's what most people think about the institute." He said "Most? From what I've heard they're more scared." You said "Diamond City." Was his only reply

"Look, get out of here." You said "You would let me go free?" He laughed sarcastically "Yeah, as long as you don't interfere with our plans." You said "Sorry, But I won't allow you to carry on with your sadistic plans. Even if we were friends years ago. I'll have to put that behind me and end you right now." He said and you couldn't help but grin

"Do it. I dare you," You said "Why? I thought you wanted to defend the institute?" He grinned "and I do, but what's the point when your butchering all my people out there?!" You yelled as you pointed your gun at the window where you could see synths and scientist being shot down

"It's the way it should be." He said "Get out of my way you idiot." You hissed as you went to push past him so you could help your people however he grabbed you harshly

"No can do." He said "Get off me you fool!" You yelled out in anger as you tried to get out of his grip but when it didn't work you only could think of one thing and that's when you fell to the floor bringing him with you and the both of you began wrestling on the floor as multiple bullets could be heard wizzing around by the elevator

"I swear-" You growled out as you shoved him harder into the floor, trying hard to pin him there so he couldn't get an advantage over you again but just as your hand come into contact with his to pin him there a gunshot was heard from within the room and everything seemed to go in slow motion as both you and Maxson stared at each other

"(Y/N)?" He asked gently and that's when your face contorted into one of pain and that's when you fell off the leader of the Brotherhood

Elder Maxson scrambled away from you and that's when he saw the crimson red blood that was left on the white floor

His eyes darted over to Nate who was lying there with a gun in his hand

"Man...that one has a hard hit." He groaned and Maxsons eyes landed on you again to see you holding the wound tightly, eyes closed as you leaned against the doorframe

"No...." Shaun whispered as he looked over at you bleeding out on the floor

"Come on Elder, we have to blow the place sky high." Nate said as he stood up and grabbed the Elder who wasn't moving, as they were leaving the room Nate kicked you in the legs as Maxson accidentally tripped over you but Nate just carried on running with his hand on Maxsons coat so they could just hurry up and get the job done

BOOM!

The institute exploded right in front of their eyes, they stared down at the building that was surrounded by a mushroom cloud

Maxson couldn't help but let his mind wonder to you....he just let you die, sure he was against everything you stood for but maybe he could've changed you.

Guilt started to eat away at him but little did he know that staring up at him, was none other than  (Y/N)
