"Of course." Holland agreed

I drove us to a local coffee shop called 'Gertrude's' that was only five minutes away from school. We both got iced almond milk lattes.

As we waited for our coffees I noticed a boy walked in wearing a St. Agnes uniform with his younger sister.

No fucking way.

"Is that Everett Griffin?" I asked Holland secretly

She subtly glanced over, "That's Ella, so that has to be him. Oh my gosh, he's so hot now."

The last time I saw Everett Griffin he had thick glasses, he was skinny, and he had a different hair cut. But that was clearly the past since he ditched the glasses, buffed up completely, and had a nice quiff.

"Hey, Ella." Holland greeted his sister

"Grier." The barista exclaimed

Saved by the bell.

I walked up and grabbed Holland and I's drinks.

"Holly, let's kick it." I walked past Everett without saying a word, basically what I'd been doing since sixth grade, the year he transferred in

Holland and I got into my car and just sat there for a second.

"Dude, who knew Everett freaking Griffin would have gotten so cute over the summer?" I bought up again

I connected my phone to the Bluetooth audio in my car and started blasting 'Teenage Dirtbag' and with that came singing.

I rolled down all my windows and the sunroof and turned the music up all the way.

"Oh my gosh, Grier! You're embarrassing me." Holland yelled over the music

"Yeah I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby, listen to Iron Maiden, baby, with me." I sang

"Yeah my boyfriend's a dick, but he doesn't know who I am and he doesn't give a damn about me." I skipped some lyrics and changed some lyrics as well

Holland grabbed my phone and changed the song to 'OMG' by Camila Cabello.

"Oh my gosh, Hol, this is a completely different vibe." I complained as I put my seatbelt on

Somehow I still got into the song, since I sang it in the shower all the time.

"The fact that you can actually sing is sickening," Holland said drinking her coffee

I nodded, "About that, I got put into that new class about producing and singing music or whatever it's called. I think Mom put it on there for me, but Hol if people find out that I'm anywhere near the so-called geeky choir room, I don't know how I'll make it to graduation day."

"Grier, I really don't think people care that much." Holland tried to reassure me

"No, Holland, they do. I bought it up when I scheduled these classes last year and everyone completely shut it down. As superficial and shallow as it sounds, I don't wanna mess up my reputation at school. I've always been 'Grier Johnson' the it girl. You know? I could get any guy I want, any spot on student council, but at the same time I'm not Grier because I've never done anything different with my high school life." I rambled

Holland gave me a look, "I think you're thinking too deep."

She just didn't understand.

I got us both to school in a timely fashion.

My first hour was religion studies I mostly had with my main clique of friends and their friends that I never really talked to but we were still in the same friend group.
