Love lots, AV

Scott looked down and sighed at the notification on his phone. He set down the piping bag before wiping the frosting off his hands and picking up the device. It was from instagram, Mitch had liked another one of his photos. It was on his shop's page, a wedding cake he had done for Kirstie and Nicole, the inside a rainbow. He didn't have a private page, he had too much he didn't want the world to see.

He couldn't help but click the profile and scroll through the brunette's photos. He noticed there was a new boy in the the latest few photos. They seemed pretty cozy too. Scott hoped they were. He didn't want Mitch pinning over what could have been. It had been three years, and they both needed to move on.

Scott continued to scroll until he got to a post from the previous month, #TBT Miss this and these people more than anything, wish I could go back. Scott signed more heavily sinking down into a chair. The photo itself brought up so many memories. It was after Kirstie's vocal concert, the final one before she graduated. Scott still had a year left, after switching his major so many times and being behind in credits. And Mitch, being the baby of the group, still had two years. The picture showed Mitch and Scott dressed up in matching dress slacks and shirts, adorable bow ties around their neck. Kirstie was gorgeous in a floor length gown and heels, leaning into Nicole who was dress equally as beautifully, the redhead planting a kiss on her head as Kirstie smiled widely. Mitch had his arm around Scott's waist, his other hand pulling the boy into a kiss.
Someone had captured the moment, probably Avi. Scott smiled at the screen, it was a beautiful photo. He couldn't help himself as he double tapped the picture. He almost thought better and unliked it but he knew that the notification must have already went through.

He leaned his head back against the chair, closing his eyes and reminiscing for a few moments. Think of other times, time when Mitch would hold him as he cried. Times when he was sure that the two would be together forever. If only things would have worked out differently. But they hadn't and Scott couldn't bring himself to regret his decisions. They were necessary at the time.

The phone vibrated again, jolting him from his revery. A message.... From Mitch.

Hey Scottie, just wanted to let you know I miss you. If you ever want to get together let me know. Just as friends, of course. Well, not of course, if you wanted more then I would definitely be open to that too. Just I miss us. You were my best friend and I still don't know what happened. Anyway I hope you get this and you are well. Love always, Mitchie.

A tear dropped from his blue eyes as he released his emotions once again, as he had done so many times over the past few years. As much as he hated to admit it, he missed Mitch. He couldn't believe that after all this time, Mitch would even consider taking him back. Scott left, halfway through the year, without a call or a text or anything. He left for Christmas break and just didn't come back. Mitch returned to school in January after a week of radio silence to see his room in their on campus apartment empty. He thought he must have done something wrong. But in truth he hadn't, Scott left for Mitch's own good. Mitch had plans and if Scott had stayed if would have messed those plans up for the brunette. Though it killed him, he knew he had to leave.

Scott opened the app the thumb and hit reply. However, before he could key in a response then door above the shop chimed. He heard Kirstie on the phone, talking to Nicole from the sound of it. She maybe her way around the counter to the workspace, dropping the load in her arms who instantly ran up to Scott.

"Daddy!!! Guess what happened at daycare today?"

Scott smiled and picked the little girl up, "tell daddy all about it princess."
