Tuesday, 5 AM.

We always opened up early for all the nurses and truck drivers, we had the regulars who always came in for their morning cup of coffee and grilled cheese sandwich.

Each morning was the same routine: get in, start the coffee machine, slice the bread, grate the cheese etc etc.

I got in my usual time with my usual co workers, Kirsty, Anna and Charné. We set up the tables making sure each had salt, pepper, sugar ketchup and mustard. We cleaned the top counter and finally flipped the sign and turned on the outside neon lights.

We were open for buisness.

Our first customer was a usual gentleman who drove a local companies truck. He came in an sat down at the front counter with a big smile and ordered a plate of pancakes and a cup of coffee. Soon after followed Nurse Martha another regular, and Sheriff Norwood.

We had our usual flow of customers, not to busy and not to quiet until around 9 am when it got really busy. All the parents would drop in after the school run and any of the other locals who worked in the area. By 9:30 we were packed.

We were rushing back and forth with orders to and from the kitchen, I was stuck in the back with all the grilled cheese orders. We had gone through 6 loaves of bread by 10 AM. Slowly it started to calm down and the chef took his break leaving me alone in the kitchen.

I cleaned up my work station and started grating more cheese, in between taking on orders that may have come through. A man walked into the back.

"Excuse me sir, your not allowed back here, its staff only" I said pointing at the large sign.

He walked closer towards me menacingly and I stumbled back into another man wearing a dark leather jacket. Before I could scream he had a cloth covering my mouth, in my panic I struggled trying to grab anything but it was too late as everything became blurry and suddenly faded to black.
