one (sun)day, i looked around,

stood in a pew surrounded by fellow church goers, heard the creed leave every one of their lips; a self-professed incantation

listened for the first time to the words coming out, in absolute awe:

of how an entire congregation can claim a human existence

built on being made in the image and likeness of our creator

and yet upon professing the nicene creed sound so--

robotic

it was in that moment, i finally understood the difference:

between faith and organised religion

and why the latter was far more
terrifying
