There's always something in life that we're good at (Academics, sports, arts, fashion, storytelling, etc.). But sometimes, even if we're good at something, it's not enough to other people. They will always say something about you. Who cares right? as long as you're happy on what you're doing and you're good at it, don't let those people bring you down. We only have one life, so we should make the most out of it. Whatever field you're good at, don't forget that there's always a room for improvement.
The improvement of yourself is to be the better version of yourself. To do that, you need to let go of your old habits and plan your life ahead. I remember one of the greatest author Sidney Sheldon said that "Life is like a novel, you never know what will happened until you turn the next page. So if you want a better version of you, do it now! :)
It takes a lot of guts and determination to improve yourself. For me, as I was diagnosed with PCOS, a condition wherein it's a hormonal imbalance that causes me irregular periods. Because of that, I need to lose weight so that my menstrual periods will be normalized. Losing weight is so hard for me, because I love to eat a lot. But I guess in life, if you wanted so much of something it will be dangerous for you. At first I'm still in in denial of my condition. After 5 months of being aware of my condition, I didn't lose weight because I kept on eating foods that are not good for me and my period is till not normal. And now I'm alarmed because if I keep pushing what I want to eat, my health is still at risk. That is a wake up call for me. I need to be the best version of myself so that it will benefit my mind, my body and my soul. To do that I need to kill my old habits and create new ones that will help me to develop myself.
To be the best version of oneself we need to do it one step at a time. I know it's hard to let go of your old habits but letting go of those things will be worthwhile.
