With humanity on the brink of war,
How could we ever hope for love?
We sit back and watch the world fall apart,
All while uselessly praying to God above.
We've forgotten how to coexist,
Pointing fingers loaded with blame,
Convincing ourselves of each other's guilt,
While we watch everything go up in flames.
We see other lives as meaningless,
Doing anything to get ourselves ahead,
We never see our mistakes until the sky is filled with ashes,
And our rivers run a bloody red.
We choose to ignore the problem,
Focusing on our selfish greed,
We sell our souls so we can't feel,
Abandoning our morals to let chaos feed.
We twist the truth to fit the mold,
Caught up within a million lies,
We tell ourselves that it's okay,
Every time another innocent dies.
Who pays for our mistakes?
Who takes the blame for our crimes?
Someone needs to stop this...
Because humanity is running out of time.
