Arrange Marriages.

Question: Do you agree with arrange marriages? Give your own opinions.

Personally, I do not agree with arrange marriages.

Back in the 1500s, marriages were different from the ones today. Marriages might be used to cancel gambling debts, or it was just simply arranged by the parents for various reasons.
The bride and the groom had no control over who to marry and didn't even love each other sometimes.

Relationship between husband and wives were terrible based on the records. Husbands would give their wives blows and strikes for personal reasons such as unsatisfactory of her work or depression.

Relationship between children was bad too. They would be sent to boarding school or work at a young age.

Also, I strongly disagree with parents like Elizabeth Paston's, with abusing and hitting the children who speaks out and disagrees about who they should be married to. It's just really unfair and didn't have a meaning to life and love.
