"What, why?" He frowned.
Kennedy scoffed at the boy, half tempted to roll her eyes. He'd probed oblivious to the amount of questions he always asked; she supposed that made sense. Thomas couldn't stop asking questions, no matter howmany times Newt had threatened to drag his ass into the maze and throw him from the cliff. Honestly, Kennedy wished Newt would honour the threats and do it.
Well, not really...
But Thomas' questions were annoying, all the same.
The night prior had been interesting.
Kennedy had spent hours with Thomas, in the end; the majority being consumed with talk, and laughter, and just silly conversation that didn't mean much to anyone but themselves. The stars in the sky had soon dissipated, the depths of night lightening into a paler and pastel blue. It had been the first time in a while, that Kennedy truly hadn't minded staying awake until the sun had risen — really the exhaustion was worth it. With Thomas by her side, Ken hardly even noticed that the day was a new. He was distracting, and oddly entrancing, in the best of ways.
