The Paladins had fought for several Movements now, unable to form Voltron. Zarkon had no access to the Black Lion, but Haggar had always been quite adept at Altean Alchemy. There was no doubt that the Paladins were losing. In a last-ditch effort, Alfor was putting his wife, Queen Aria, in charge of the kingdom and the army, and he and the other paladins were going to hide the lions. But first, Aria needed to ensure her son's and daughter's safety.

She ran through the castle, clutching her infant son in her arms. Allura was running to keep up with her mother. Allura was desperately trying to convince her mother to make the Paladins form Voltron. She didn't know. She had no idea that it was Zarkon who was attacking. Aria ran to the pods, and hurriedly put Allura inside one. Allura was sobbing now, pushing against her mother. Aria hugged her, and then pushed her back. Aria closed the door to the pod, just as the Royal Advisor ran into the control room.

"Aria! This battle can not be won! The Paladins of Voltron have disappeared! Our only option is for you to seal off the castle! It'll create a barrier, and send us away! We'll be okay, I'm sure of it! Please, I'll protect your children!" Coran begged as Aria began to put Alturran, her son, in a pod.

Aria turned to him, looking down. "Coran. I am sorry. The war is over already. The Galra Empire has won. I will send you away from Altea, if only for a chance to save my children."

And with that, Aria turned and ran from the room, handing Alturran to Coran. Coran placed Alturran in a cradle, then placed it in a pod, before stepping into his own. He set it to awaken them to someone entering the chamber. He also set it to awaken him in case of an emergency or malfunction with the systems. He lowered the systems controls and closed his eyes. He didn't think he would be woken up alone.

"Huh? Wha? Wh-Who goes there!" Coran shouted as he jumped out of the pod. He looked around, confused. "If no one's here...Perhaps we received contact from another ship?" Coran checked the ships message board but found nothing. "Well-Well if there's no message...What's wrong?"

He walked to the centerpiece of the room and put black and blue gloves on both hands. A hologram appeared above his hands. With a simple wave, the hologram turned into a model of the ship. He flattened his palm, and the model flattened, into a map of the first floor. Every room was a pale blue, except for the room with the pods. Coran pressed against it with three fingers, and the functions of the room appeared. He ran a maintenance check, and the list condensed into the broken systems.

*LIFE SUPPORT
*CRYOSLEEP
*STASIS

Coran pressed with two fingers against the POD SYSTEMS section. When Coran turned around, the pods had glowing lights on their sides. Out of 25 total, 23 had green markers. 1 had a blue marker, indicating that Allura was safe inside. However, there was 1 pod that had a red marker. The pod that had woken Coran up. Coran exited the POD SYSTEMS section and clicked a separate section.

*VIDEO LOGS

Coran didn't know what he was expecting. The Logs listed the times where motion was recorded.

Coran clicks on 10 Doboshes, hoping for nothing...

The lights turn on in the main room. A large creature stalks through the room, before sniffing at the pods. It clicks the center pod. The pod containing Alturran. The creature snarls and holds up its fist. The creature is holding a large weapon, and it slashes against the glass.

Coran clicks on the arrow to the right.

Alturran is still inside his pod, and the doors are still closed, though there is a large, broken, hole. There's glass on the floor. The pod is red-tinted instead of blue. An alien's claw appears, and it claws at Alturran. Alturran begins crying and wailing, loudly. A secured secondary pod appears around Alturran, protecting him from the invading alien. Alturran is propelled out of the castle, with only the safety pod, flying into the vastness of space. The pod doors open with a screech, and the trespasser is sucked out as well and flung away. The alien flies off into space. It slowly freezes, until it no longer moves. The pod floor seals and the ship activates an emergency wormhole. The pod lights go orange-red.

Coran dropped to his knees, shocked. He took a few moments to cool down, and to focus on his mission, and the task at hand. Alturran's pod will send him to the nearest inhabitable planet, so it is reasonable to believe he will survive. Coran got up shakily, then he stepped out of the pod. He fixed the pod systems and then steps into his own once again. He sends all the pods back down, and then takes a final look into the logs, hoping that Alturran will be able to survive until they can find him again. Or at least until the paladins return. He sighed, then he closed his eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

5,984 Deca-Phoebs Later

A little boy landed on Earth, in a strange pod. He was found in the street, by an old woman. She examined the little boy with strange, white hair, and pointy ears for a moment. Slowly, he changed. Little by little, he began to look more human-like. His skin almost mirrored the old lady's, and his hair turned grey. When the old lady took him to her husband, his hair changed again, into a dark brown shade, with curls. His skin also changed, so it was a medium between the two.

The older people looked at each other, astonished. They drove to their daughter's home and dropped the baby off with them.

"I think I'll call you Lance. Lance McClain." The daughter told the baby, cradling him in her arms.
