Feeling the sunshine was the first thing Adrienne felt when she left the hospital. She missed the sun so much. She missed the fresh breath of air. She missed everything from the outside world.

A doctor walked up behind her, handing her a bag. “The identification papers are in the bag, as well as the money, and tickets to Berlin.” Adrienne took the bag, and nodded. “Thank you.” She said.

“Be careful, Ms. Owens.” He said. “Even though you have proved yourself responsible enough to be back in the world, what you did could not be forgotten. So you must stick to the plans in the papers, and you would have a good life.”

Adrienne took a taxi to the airport. When she got on her flight to Berlin, she thought of the new life ahead of her. She wasn’t the messed up child she used to be. She wasn’t a murderer, or a monster. She was a woman, ready to begin her life. But she knew, deep down, no matter how wonderful her new life would be, her past would always be behind her. And she would never forgive herself of the things she had done.
