Ah, the DC Extended Universe: one of the most heated topics of the Internet, of late. Generally, the DCEU gets a really bad rap and isn't well received with DC fanboys/gals or critics. It is socially acceptable to hate this cinematic series, not hope for the best, and push for an early reboot. And God forbid if you actually like or even thoroughly enjoyed the movies. Yikes!

As for my stance on this topic, and I may lose several readers and followers over this: I enjoy the DCEU.

And I don't think Suicide Squad is terrible. I mean it's definitely the weakest, and could have been a helluva lot better, but I'd label it as just that- weak. I said it- if you can't take it now is the best time to not read on. Besides, I have a track record for seeing gems for what others would label rocks (like episodes II and III of Star Wars) so I'm used to the backlash by now.

As a fan of this pantheon of characters, I agree that we deserve more than what we've been given. However, I'm not so high and mighty to just trash every little bit, frame-by-frame, of the movies in order to appreciate what's being done and its direction. For this I have been labeled a non-fan, been accused of not knowing what good movies are, accused of being a juvenile who only loves action. Whatevs.
In closing, just let people like what they want! If you hate it, go to your corner with your fellow man and hate it together; let the others live y'all. At the end of the day, and as passionate as I can be about these things: it's not that big a deal- they're FICTIONAL, FANTASY characters.
