He sucked in a deep breath before answering. "Like I said, I acted moronic but I wanted to take my time. I just couldn't tell you at the beginning, I mean you might have thought I was insane especially if you didn't feel the same way. It was a feeling I had to sort out inwardly. I wanted to be sure you liked me and I intended to be selfish if you didn't. By the time we started dating, I knew I couldn't let you go even if you were meant for someone else."

Hearing this from another man would have been creepy but with Jason, it was different. Besides, I would always be grateful for his attention. No one had ever shown interest in me my whole life. I definitely would have freaked out a tad if he had said he loved me when we  just met again.

"You're awfully quiet and it's making me feel not good enough. Please tell me what you're thinking." Jason's subtle but domineering voice dragged me back to reality.

What should I tell him? Should I tell him I'm in love with him or should I still hide my feelings till I was ready?

Ugh! Screw it!

"I LOVE YOU!" I screamed like he was far away and couldn't hear me. There was a huge echo and I could hear my voice miles away.

"Wow! That was loud!" He chuckled and I blushed in embarrassment.

"I'm sorry." I apologized. I didn't scream often and it felt weird but satisfying to let the words roll off my tongue.

"You shouldn't be. I actually love hearing you say those words. Can you say it again?" An underlying tone of anxiety was latched to his words like he was uncertain about what he heard from me.

"I love you so much sometimes it seems incredulous and sometimes it feels like being with you is a dream. I get scared that I'll lose you someday. That I'd wake up suddenly and realize you never existed. But right now, even if it's a dream, it's the best dream ever. I can't see you but you'll forever be here." I touched my left chest which indicated my heart.

"I understand. I have the same insecurity all the time. When I see you and how beautiful you are, I wonder why no one has stolen you from me. But just to clarify that, whoever tries to take you away from me has to get into a battle with me that I don't intend to lose. I don't deserve you; you're amazing, humane, beautiful, smart and the most impeccable thing that's ever existed. I love you, Cassiopeia and nothing's gonna stop me from making you mine forever." He sealed his promise with a kiss. A kiss of love. A kiss of trust and a kiss of the future and that no what happens, we'd never be apart from each other. I kissed him in return, opening up my heart to him, hoping and trusting him to take care of it for the rest of our lives.

We were both in this forever.

Nothing could stop us!

"I love you Cassieopia!" He almost scared me by shouting at the top of his lungs, his voice echoing like the sound of the wind and utterly pleasant like the peace of the atmosphere.

"I love you Jason!" I screamed and giggled. It sure felt so right letting go and going with the flow.

"I love you more!" He screamed louder.

"No, I love you more!" I screamed louder, trying to match his. But my high pitched voice was nothing compared to his.

"No, I believe I love you more."

"I'm certain I love you more."

"I love you forever."

"I love you till infinity."

We went on and on, screaming like love birds gaining territory of each other. By the time we stopped, we were bursting with uncontrollable laughter. Tears trickled down my face and I wiped them off with the back of my palms.

"That's okay. I don't want you to lose your voice... Speaking of that, I think it's time we left. It's gonna get really frosty out her soon and you aren't feeling well." He said.

I agreed and while he stood up, I straightened my sweater, all ready feeling the chill of the atmosphere.

All of a sudden, it felt weirdly bright and I felt a stinging rush of pain in my eyes, I had to cover them with my hands.

"Cassiopeia? What's wrong?" Jason pulled me to him, sensing my discomfort. I uncovered my eyes only to feel the excruciating pain again. It still felt too bright which was strange. It felt like I was walking close to the scorching sun but my eyes were the only victims of the pain.

Asking a blind person how it felt seeing something brighter than usual would be tagged abnormal but it was real.

"Are you okay? Should I carry you?" I was brought back to earth by his voice.

"No, I'm alright. It just felt suddenly and strangely bright. I know it's hard to believe but it was normal until you stood up. It became brighter, like um, I don't know, a light shone on me?" I answered unsure if I made sense. I had never seen a light before so my explanation lacked credibility. But from what I've heard my whole life, a light was something bright and illuminating.

Jason said nothing and I wondered if he didn't hear me or if he wasn't around anymore. The latter thought gave me a fright and I wondered if he had suddenly disappeared.

"Jason are you there?" I panicked, consumed with an overwhelming fear and knew I'd go into a frenzy soon.

"I am. I'm sorry for zoning out." He whispered and I relaxed. I clung to him for dear life in case he decided to ‘zone out’ again.

"It's just that..." He stopped.

"It's just what?" I asked but he didn't reply.

"Jason what is it?" I shook him with vehemence.

"It's just that I turned on my torch when I stood up." He finally replied but that made no sense.

"Eh... Okay?" I responded. It was more of a question than an affirmation.

"Don't you get it Cassiopeia?" He queried.

"Get what?" I asked, puzzled beyond words.

"I think you saw the light from my torch!" He answered.

Oh my goodness! What does this truly mean?
