" Stop crying. It's pathetic. Nobody has even said anything and you're already misbehaving. We've been nothing but nice since you arrived yesterday night,"Jared complained with an angry tone. She ignored him. She was too afraid to talk, especially whilst he was mad.

" Either you get your act together, Leah, or I'm going to give you something to cry about." Was the last words he said when he threw her face back, causing her to nearly fall of the chair. She let out a noise that sounded like a puppy being booted.

Jared stormed off out of the kitchen and Leah shut her eyes tightly until she knew he'd gone. She heard the door lock and it brought her back into reality.

Jared was furious. Leah had got him in his bad books with his dad now. Jared needed to train her, and fast. His father was going to think he wasn't capable of having a wife. He'd have to start with the real punishments and nothing excited him more, but he was still angry at Leah for being such a whiny runt.

When they'd gone, Leah was pushing the loose glasses up her face when that same woman entered the kitchen. She stopped in front of Leah's crumpled figure. She had short, dark blonde hair with slight grey strands on top and big blue eyes, just like Leah. They stood out so clearly compared to everything else on her face.

" Come here, sweetheart. I'm Lindsay. It's so good to meet you," The older woman said as she picked Leah up from the chair by her hands and pulled her towards her chest. Leah already knew this from when Gabe was yelling at her last night, but she didn't pull her out on it.

Leah tried not to hug her back. She was one of them, but Lindsay smelt luxuriously fresh and clean. She must of just showered this morning.

" You're so beautiful, Leah. My son is one lucky, young man. Theo will have a challenge in a few years time." Lindsay chuckled sweetly as Leah gazed at her as if she had two heads.

" Do you have a key?" Leah automatically asked, and Lindsay looked taken back. She stepped backwards and walked over to the sink to wash the dishes from breakfast, scratching the back of her head as a nervous gesture.

" No, Leah, " Lindsay muttered, avoiding eye contact. " Could you hand me a dish cloth please so I can wash these dishes? There just in that draw over there."

Leah was too frightened. It could be a trap. What if something was on the draw? Goodness, she was going crazy. She'd gotten to the point where she thought a draw was going to attack her.

Quickly, she scurried over and grabbed a red cloth out of the draw. It reminded her of the crimson splattered up the walls in the corner of the room. She shut her eyes again and tried to forget about it, but it haunted her thoughts. She passed it Lindsay and she thanked her.

Leah walked over to the door whilst Lindsay was occupied and gave it a weakened yank. Lindsays ears twitches and she turned to face Leah, who stood guilty faced, moving away from the door. Leah immediately stepped away so Lindsay let it slide.

" W-why am I here?" Leah asked with a shaky voice. Lindsay looked so sweet and old. Maybe she'd feel bad for her and let her go. She had to have a key. She was part of this psychotic family.

" You're married to my son, Jared now, dear," Lindsay told her as she scrubbed at a plate. " I promise that you that he will look after you."

" How can you be so calm with that torture device in your kitchen?" Leah interviewed Lindsay in incredulity and Lindsay jumped in fright from her loud voice. Leah rose her finger at the hooks, and her finger was shaking like a mad man, a crazed look about her face.
