All eyes were on you, as you emerged at the top of the flight of stairs. Glancing around at the array of beautifully dressed people, you suddenly felt very inadequate in your formal outfit. 

A week ago when you had brought it, you couldn't wait to wear it but now that the big moment had arrived...

...you were doubting yourself greatly.

It was the first time you were officially out in public, finally labelled as the gender you had always felt to be the right one but not the one you were born. At last you felt comfortable in your own skin. Gone was the inner turmoil and confusion- it was time for you to be happy. You deserved to be happy. 

You noticed someone pull away from the crowd, quickly and gracefully ascending the stairs, stopping only a few steps from you. 

Looking at the person, you suddenly felt yourself relax, all stress and anxieties melting away, as you took in his glittering  eyes and awed smirk. 

You had to admit, Steve in a freshly pressed tux was certainly something you hoped to see more of in the future. The obsidian black certainly suited his fairer complexion and the material was hugging his body in all of the right places. Mmm, yes. You definitely hoped he would wear that suit more to other formal occasions. Or perhaps when you two were alone? You thought cheekily and partially lustfully. 

He held out his hand, motioning for you to take it.

With more confidence than you had moments before, you accepted his hand. With a supportive squeeze from him, you both descended the stairs, ready to join the immaculately clothed gathering of friends and acquaintances.

"You look absolutely exquisite." you heard a certain male whisper adoringly in your ear, causing you to beam with pride. "I'm so proud of you."

"I'm proud of me too." you whispered back.
