Joe's pov

After meeting Cole and having a word with him, I am satisfied he is right for my daughter. He is wealthy and can support Tegan. He also didn't talk back to me like I thought he would when I threatened him. It means that I can sort him out if he ever hurts my daughter.

I may have liked Cole but I will keep an eye on him. There is something that isn't quite right about Cole because he seemed to be on edge the whole time that we were at his house, even more so when we were alone together.

Annie my wife on the other hand, seems smitten by Cole and can't stop blubbering about how good he is for Tegan. Liam can't stop praising him either, he can't get over the fact that Cole played video games with him. I'm not happy about that, Liam should have been resting not socialising.

The main thing is that Liam has fully recovered except the pain he feels in his legs when he walks. He no longer needs a wheelchair which is good. The Doctor said the pain should fade within a couple of weeks. I guess he should stay at home until then.

School will be impossible for him, he'll be in pain when walking to and from different classrooms. There is also no way I'm allowing Liam to go to school and come home on his own after what happened to make sure it never occurs again. When he does return to school, I will drive him there and back.

"Joe maybe Liam should have stayed with Tegan. I mean he isn't going anywhere is he?" Annie asked me.

"Maybe but he needs to be home, he can't be confused about who his guardians are," I replied.

It was really hurtful when Liam said he wanted to stay with Tegan not us, his parents. Tegan has already left home. I can't have Liam leave too, then it'll just be Annie and I. That won't be bad but it would be a little weird, just the two of us after all these years. We could always have more children because we are still fairly young, both of us are only in our mid thirties.

"Annie?" I asked.

"Yes Joe," Annie replied.

"How do you feel about having more children?"

"Why?"

"Tegan left home years ago and in a couple of years Liam will too. It'll just be us then,"

"As much as I would love all the time we'll get alone, I understand how you feel. When you go to work, I'll be on my own. I wouldn't mind having another child, children are a blessing and it would keep me occupied,"

"That's great," I said with a smile before giving Annie a hug.

"So what do you think of Cole? You didn't say anything after we left his house," Annie asked when I pulled away from the hug. I shrugged before saying

"I think him and Tegan are a good match, let's hope it stays that way,"
