"So what'd he say?"
I ask quietly, my eyes glued to the oven timer.

Bree grins stupidly, twirling a strand of her hair around her finger.

"Oh, nothing much. Just that he's glad that they are back and that we're friends again."
She giggles, looking so damn happy.

I raise an eyebrow.

We're waiting for dinner to get done.

After I threw a fit about the importance of eating dinner before all of the snacks and stuff, Lau and Larry reluctantly agreed to wait to start the movie so that I could come in here and cook up something.

Burgers and tater tots.

I love the meal.

Me and baby Alex have that in common.

It doesn't take long to cook at all and Bree came in just a few minutes ago to wait with me for the tater tots to get done.

"Someone seems a little too happy. Did anything else happen?"
I ask curiously.

I don't mean to be nosey, I swear.

It's just that I'm ready for Bree to have a change.

She's never dated and it has nothing to do with how over protective her brother is.

I have no idea why.

She's so beautiful and plenty of guys have jumped at the chance to ask her out, yet she rejected every single last offer.

"No. It was kind of awkward, you know? And it freaked me out, I've never seen him so quiet and..."

"And what, Bree?"
I coax, smirking a little.

I find this funny.

She likes him back.

I knew from the moment she walked back in, looking all flustered.

"He's so fucking fine. There, I said it."
She groans, leaning against me.

I laugh, turning off the oven as the timer goes off.

Just in time.

"Thanks for stating the obvious, Bresaulee."

We both turn and jump as Laurent appears at the doorway smirking at her.

"It's flattering, really."
He continues, folding his arms.

She holds a hand to her heart, glaring at him.

"Lau! You almost gave me a heart attack. I actually thought you were Larry for a second."
She complains, her cheeks even redder than before.

"Yeah, whatever. I came in here to help. I heard the timer."
Laurent says, fold his arms.

I avert eye contact as he appears next to me, opening the oven.

I can't look because I know that if I do then I won't be able to look away.

The dude has on no shirt.

As soon as Trey came downstairs shirtless, the twins looked at us and took off theirs too.

"We didn't want to make it all awkward for you ladies."
Larry had explained, smiling nervously.

It was kind of sweet.

I like that Larry, the nervous timid one.

I'm not used to it.

"Here, let me. I don't want you to burn your fingers, Belle."
Laurent says softly, gently pushing me out of the way with his hip.
