Amber Reynolds can't quite seem to rise herself from the ashes of the fire that's overtaken the last year and half of her life. Someone she loves is widly taken away from her and her world begins to spiral madly out of control. She drinks. She takes advantage of one her closet friends. She no longer finds trust her parents and she runs away, only to return home three days later to order from her parents to be shipped off to a reform school in Tokyo, Japan.
A year later, she feels different. She looks different. But upon her return back to Capelton, Vermont, she is not sure what and who has changed ad what has not. Her father seems softer. Her mother sicklier and things she thought could be buried are slowly rising from the dead. Not to mention the one person she can hold so closely to her heart can also be the reason her world sets to fire all over again.
