chapter 9 - captivity and rescue

Start from the beginning

There was another explosion. When the smoke cleared, I was about 4 people in gas masks. The walked down into the chamber. One went over to Blaz and one walked over to me.

I struggled, trying to escape from this strange person. The person pulled off their mask to reveal the face of Liam.

He kneeled in front of me "You look horrible. What did they do to you?" His voice was calm and relaxing.

I stopped trying to escape, but still didn't calm down. I couldn't trust this boy. I looked over to Blaz to see Ivy helping him break free of the chains. Liam stood up and helped me out of the chains.

Slowly, I stood up. It took all the strength that I had to lift up my foot. I put it down slightly in front of me and leaned on it. Just as I was leaning on my leg, I fell over. My leg pulsed with a pain greater than I thought would come from a broken leg.

Liam lifted me up onto his back and walked over to one of the people standing guard. I couldn't see their face, but I had a very good idea of who they were.

Just as I thought, it turned out to be Fin.

"Get them somewhere safe. I'm trusting you with their lives. Don't mess up." Liam seemed to have a plan, so I didn't say anything.

He back away as both of the dragons changed form. Liam helped me onto Fin's back as Ivy helped the weak Blaz onto the other.

I wrapped my arms around fin's neck for dear life as the two huge dragons flew out of the tunnel and into the sky.

I forced myself to look down. There was a huge battle going on between the camp and the dragons. They didn't know that the dragons were trying to help.

I hid my face in Fin's scales as some blood from my arm dripped off into the battle below.

I faintly heard someone shout "Its the energy girl!" Everything stopped as they watched two streaks of colour fly in a couple circles then fly away. One emerald green and the other sky blue.

I knew that everyone down below would now understand what was going on.

I smiled to myself. The people down there understood what was going on. The dragons wanted to help. I knew everyone would be okay.

I looked behind me one more time to try and fin Eli or Don in order to wave goodbye. What I saw was better.

They were both climbing onto the back of a turquoise dragon. Eli in front and Don making sure neither of them fell off. The dragon flew up into the air and chased after us.

They never caught up in the air. When they were about 50 feet behind us, the dragon fell the the ground.

I screamed for Fin and the other dragon to turn back, and they did. About 20 seconds later, we were landing on the ground. Both Don and Eli seemed to be fine, but the dragon was seriously injured.

Despite the pain in my leg, I jumped off of Fin and ran over to the dragon.

I knew that there was a way to stop the bleeding. I just had to remember how. I then remembered. I grabbed some leaves and put them on top of a huge wound on the dragon's side. When they were all on there, I started feeling the dragon's neck for pressure points.

As I was starting to stop the bleeding, I heard a painfully familiar laugh as Ethan stepped out of the trees.

"You can't save her. She's going to die. It's too late now. Look at the wound. It's not normal" I glanced at the wound. He was right. The wound was starting to turn pink and eat away at the dragon's scales and flesh.
