It was even worse than right before I came to camp. These people could cause pain in more ways than I thought possible.

No matter what they did, I knew that I couldn't break. My life was worth nothing compared to the lives of thousands of dragons.

The guard walked up to me. "I can see that you will never tell me anything." He was so close. I was terrified. What was he going to do. "I hope you know that I've spent months here trying to get someone to talk." He backed away. "She never actually talked, so I eventually gave up." the guard pointed to a lump in the corner. "So I killed her. Would you like to see her?"

I violently shook my head, but the guard just smiled. "I think he would have known her." The guard grabbed part of the lump and lifted a girl up by the neck. I heard Blaz gasp beside me.

"Sophia." Blaz mumbled under her breath. He started screaming. "You killed her! You killed her for no good reason! She wouldn't have known anything!"

He tried to escape from his chains, but he wasn't strong enough. I could see the anger and pain swimming behind his eyes. I wanted to help him, to comfort him. I knew that I couldn't. The chains were too strong. I couldn't get out, not matter how hard I tried.

"I would stop fighting this if I were you. I don't think you would want to loose someone else from your small group of friends." The guard walked up to me, smiling and holding a jagged dagger which was stained in blood.

He turned to Blaz. "I would behave if I were you. I know how protective you are of them" He slowly brought the knife down my arm, only making a shallow cut. I knew it would be more by the end of this.

I did my best to show no pain, but was harder than I thought. Every part of my body had cuts, bruises, burns and so much more. Everything hurt.

"You leave her out of this. Just because you hate me, that doesn't mean that you have to get her involved. This is between you and I" Blaz was going to explode. I didn't know how much more he could take of this.

"If you would tell me where you went, then it would all end. You will live and the little girl will be fine. It'll all end if you just spill your beans." The guard cut my arm again, in the exact same spot as before. This time it was a lot deeper as I tried to hide my pain. The guard laughed. "Not so easy to resist anymore, is it?"

I didn't say anything. This guy wasn't going to win this fight. I would win this. My life wasn't worth that much compared to the lives of a thousand dragons.

"Neither of us are ever gonna tell you anything." I snapped at him, which I instantly regretted. The guard started cutting open my arm again, this time it was deep enough to see the muscle.

I screamed in pain. Oh god did it hurt. The guard laughed. "I love the sound of a child's screams. It's so satisfying." He pulled out a gun and pressed it against my head "I'm giving you one last chance. Where did you go last night?"

I shook my head. I knew that second that I was going to die. I'm pretty sure that Blaz knew as well. We would both die to protect the dragons. They helped us. The least we would do was protect them.

I closed my eyes, ready to feel the bullet blow my brains to. Ready to see everyone that has died. Ready to say goodbye to blaz for forever.

Boom

I opened my eyes at the sound. The guard was gone, and the door to the stairs were open We were free. I went to run out of the chamber, when I was stopped instantly by the chains. We were still chained up. We were still stuck.
