so there are a few things that need to be explained:

1. Cin is pronounced sin just in case you didnt know

2. Brennan is pronounce bren-none

3. anything italizized is the human part of the werewolf, but anything in the bold looking letter is the wolf himself talking.

At this point in the book i think those are the only things you need to know so you wont be confused. If you are still unsure about anythin all you have to do is ask and I will answer. So vote comment and let me know what you think

I stared at the wolf on top of me unsure if I heard him right. He called me his mate. I shook my head. No he couldn't have possibly said that. I have no mate. I gave up on believing in that a long time ago.

"You have to get up."

"You have to kill me." I closed my eyes and squeezed them fighting the need to kill this wolf. I didn't want to make that mistake again. I couldn't make that mistake again.

"No! I will not kill my mate." My eyes snapped open and I growled at the wolf.

"Then as your mate you can not deny me this." The wolf whimpered, but then growled and before I could do anything his mouth was around my throat. I sighed and closed my eyes. My years of pain were going to end.

"I. will. Not. Kill. You."  My eyes snapped open and I went to say something, but the wolf tightened its jaws around my neck just enough to pierce the skin but not enough to do any damage.

"As your mate I am here to protect you, just as you are to protect me. I will not kill what I've waited so long to have in my grasp. You will come back with me to my pack, and if you provoke anyone to try and kill you I will intervene each time. Do you understand me?"

I growled at him. He wasn't giving me a choice. I despised not having a choice.

"I will do as you say for now, but it's on your head if anyone gets killed." He slowly unlatched from my throat and sat down staring at me.

"You will have to turn into your wolf."  I sat up shaking my head.

"If I turn into my beast I will have no control. I may hate that your taking me to an unknown territory, but I'm not a killer." He tilted his head staring at me intently and I stared back. Unlike other werewolves his eyes were a deep sea green instead of the usual golden glow. After another intense minute he finally let out a low growl.

"This will make things difficult, but I won't make it any harder for you. Just stay near me, and don't say anything unless your asked a question directly."  I narrowed my eyes at him.

"I'm not one of your pack members you can boss around. I do whatever the hell I please." The wolf stood and turned its back to me. I stared at him in confusion. He should know that I could easily change and take him down. Why would he expose himself to me so casually?

"Your right you're not one of my pack members, but you are my mate. I tell you what you need to know to stay safe."  I sighed not wanting to argue with him.

"Just lead the way." At that we began our travel. I stayed a few feet behind him walking silently. After all these years I've found my mate. I never thought I would, and to be honest I didn't want to. I didn't want to be close to any other wolf. In my moment of weakness I killed an innocent. In that moment I thought I would give into the bloodlust completely, but somehow I didn't. Instead I had to live with the memories of me killing an innocent child that was at the right place, but at the wrong time. Her screams hunted me day and night, the scent of her blood was always there, and the look on her face...it was one I could never forget.
