UnChained

It was all but just a memory,
That day when we "pinky-sweared".

We were bounded by that simple act,
A solemn promise.

We knew that we were that compatible,
Others judging us, but,
We had just let them be.

............

Time flies and rust conquers,
You used that "KEY",
I refused but you insisted.
And just like that,
We were unchained.

Our rhythm halted,
Symphonies that had long been intertwined,
Separated.

You broke out of our shell,
I was like a body without a soul.
A door without a lock,
A bait without a hook,
A Life without death.

Looking back at that simple promise,
Scarred me for good.
Realizing a commitment as miniscule as that,
Can make me suffer endlessly.
