A broken heart will try to mend,
Minding the love it needs the most.
A broken heart that's all but lost will cling to love that lies.
Breaking, cracking, falling loose
Holding on to strands of deceiving webs that cut like knives,
Causing life to fall behind, perish.
Connections rip and tear,
Feelings torn to shreds.
Memories burn and scar the mind,
Forced to relive the strikes and lies.
The heart and mind meander on,
Forgive they must, forget they can’t.
Life goes on and lost love looks.
It looks for lost hearts alike.
The one that rests with a scarred mind.
It longs to connect to the one that knows,
To help it, to mend it.
To get help, to be mended.
Love encompasses and heals the broken.
To love is to hold, to cherish.
Broken hearts aren't broken at all,
Just unfortunate.
But in the end of this cruel game,
The broken, cracking, torn up hearts
Will beat the strongest and endure.
Because they know the love they have
Was always truthful and only pure.
They might not be so unfortunate after all.
