War to him and I

The war rages on
And you have to leave
Your leaving your wife
Your leaving your child
You left
for what feels like a century
It was little though
Right, only two years

Only married for ten years
With your now nine year old
Baby boy who misses his daddy

You have passed on
To a better life

Only to leave behind
Your child and wife
Only your beautiful memories
That have turned
To only bitter sweet memories

Cause your gone
Cause your dead

We have to wait for reunion
Only have to wait for death
Right

I take a shovel of dirt
Dirt if a widow missing her husband
Dirt of a child with no father
Dirt of haunting painful memories

I put in the dirt thinking of where you are now
How your in a better safer place then here

But your leaving us torn apart
Torn our hearts in half from the pain

I only cry when I'm alone
When he's at school
When no one is around

But look
Your son
And other baby boys
And other baby girls
Can grow up
Including your son
Who will grow up to be like you

'cause you, you stopped a war

'cause you, you stopped a war
