Jessica's P.O.V

"Do you like him?" Ashley asked with an eyebrow lifted. She was beyond noisy when it came to me and Mark's 'relationship'.

"Of course I like him. He's a great guy."

"Then why don't you go out with him more."

"You know how my family is. My dad likes him, but he would like him better if he was a cop."

"Mark doesn't want to be a cop?"

"We've never talked about it. I mean, we have, but not like that. I've mentioned opened spaces on the force, but he normally just makes a joke and forgets about it."

"It's been over a year. He either wants you or he doesn't." Ashley took a forkful of her salad and laughed a little. "Have you guys slept together."

I smiled uneasily. Even if I had slept with Mark, which I hadn't, I wouldn't want to blab about it over some bar food and a beer.

"No, we haven't."

"Then when does that come?"

"Never hopefully. I'm not comfortable with him seeing my body." I strained to remain confident in all my curves, but something was eating at me. What if Mark had a problem with my size? He wasn't shy about kissing me, but something told him seeing my body would make him hate me.

"Listen to me Jess, you are perfect. And if he doesn't accept you and every one of your curves, then that means there is an even better man out there."

"Thanks. I guess you're right. We have another date this Friday. I'm making pasta and some chocolate pie for dessert."

"Hey, make sure to save your best friend some.

I smiled, "of course."

We finished our 'dinner' and I decided to head home. I said bye to Ashley and got into my car. I was semi close to home and that was the best because I was exhausted.

I checked my phone and received three text messages from Mark. I smiled looking at them.

I really miss you babe

Baby can you call me? :(

I genuinely miss, you can I at least get one phone call? :(

I smirked and picked up my phone. I dialed Mark's number and waited for a response.

"Hello?" He alleged in a cute sleepy voice.

"Hey, you miss me?"

"I did girl, I'm ready for our date."

"Me too, I hope you like lasagne and wine."

"How did you know? That's my favorite."

"I know things."

"I'll call you in the morning. I'm tired. 'Night."

"Night Mark."

The line went dead and I set my phone in the cup holder and continued home. It had to be past twelve in the morning.

I stopped my car at the entrance of my home and I climbed out of the car.

I unlocked the door and trudged upstairs. When I at last reached my room, I collapsed on my bed without even changing.
