When you're in a relationship, I feel like you should be honest with each other over anything. And because I was having thoughts about breaking up with Wyatt, I wanted to give him a chance to redeem himself. I wanted to talk to him about exactly what the both of us wanted out of the relationship, so I called him to ask if I could come over.
"You can if you want," he answered dryly.
"Well... Would you want me to?" I questioned.
"I don't care," he answered.
I furrowed my eyebrows and shook my head. "If you're going to say shit like that, then I'm not going to," I snapped. "The way you're speaking makes me think that you don't want me to, and if you don't, that's fine, but don't act like you don't have a care."
I heard him sigh. Then he waited a second before speaking again. "No, I do want you to," he assured. "I'm sorry."
I exhaled. "It's okay," I told him.
He stayed silent for a few moments, but then he said, "Hey, I was calling you over and over again last night. Where were you? Why didn't you answer?"
I exhaled, thinking about everything that happened the night before. I smiled, thinking about what happened with Lauren and with Evelin. I didn't see a point in telling Wyatt about it, so I didn't. "It was nothing," I told him. "I just went out for a little while."
He sighed. He sounded slightly annoyed, but he didn't push me on it. He waited a few seconds before saying, "And... It's probably nothing, but why did you just get so mad at me over me saying that I didn't care whether you come over or not?" he asked. "I'm just curious."
"I just..." I began, not knowing how to say what I wanted to say. "I don't want to try in this relationship if you don't, Wyatt."
"I know. And you shouldn't try if I'm not trying," he finished. "It's okay. I'm sorry. Do you want to come today?"
I smiled slightly. "Yeah."
"I can come pick you up whenever you want," he told. "David just bought a lot more alcohol, so if we steal some of the old ones, he won't care."
"He won't?" I asked. "But didn't he already get mad at you for stealing some?"
"Well, yeah, but that's because I stole a new one. We'll take one that he forgot about," he assured.
"Okay," I agreed. "When can you be here?"
"I can leave now if you want," he said. "I'll be there in like ten minutes."
I smiled. "Okay, babe. See you then."
I hung up and made my way over to my closet so that I could find something to wear. It'd been about 6 weeks since I'd properly hung out with Wyatt. The last time I did was the day I found out that Stephanie and Amanda had been taken.
Because I was secretly going over there because I wanted to talk about our relationship, I knew that there was a chance that we would break up. If he didn't see things my way, and I didn't see things his way, then there was no way that we could stay together. And truly, although it would sting a little bit, I knew that I would get over it quickly.
And if we actually did break up, I would at least be content with the longevity of the relationship. We had a good run. At that point, we were nearing 5 months. It was 5 months of fun, but if it were to end, again, I wouldn't be as affected as other people may be.
About fifteen minutes later, I was in my living room and I heard Wyatt's car horn outside. I looked at myself in the mirror once more. I was actually wearing makeup for once, and I knew for a fact that I looked good. I probably looked better than I ever have around him. Of course, I wanted to look good for him and all, but if we broke up, I wanted to make sure that he knew what he just messed up.
