Numbness

Walking into the room I grab my "steel lover"

I touch the stainless steel tip to my index finger

SHARP!!

without pressure the crimson surfaces creating a bead....

It's almost a dream

I feel like I have come here before

Experienced this before

And I have

My life revolves around the pain

The pain constantly throbbing

Never giving In to the temptations faced daily

The temptations of happiness

Yes I have given in an fallen for them before

Why

It just created more sadness in my life

Sometime that night

Something happened

And I'm not sure how to react

I became numb

I could no longer feel the pain

And I ....I stayed that way

And I was living

But I wasn't

I was in a bubble

Where I just stood and watched

Everything so close

And yet worlds away....
