My Top 5 Flags (Not Clickbait!)

So this one is about flags. Whew, might be too exciting. Sorry about that. Y'know it's hard to think of these things. The title is a gag by the way, I'm not sure how it will play. I was gonna do it in all caps, but that felt a bit too obnoxious. Now it just looks like less of a joke and obnoxious in a new way. Hey, who knows? I don't have standing opinions on this, so I'm just looking through a list and picking some out - most of the time - a few have caught my eye before. But, yeah.

Number Five: South Africa

- A classic. I've actually written these backward, so I am completely spent on my flag topics. I knew I should've done top four. Ah well. It's weird because this is one of the most recognizable flags, but those red and blue bits, if I wasn't just making sure I always will right now, I don't think I'd ever be able to out of the blue (heh) pick what colors those were. The green, black, and yellow completely take over - as they do. This one has a giant green Y on it, and I think it speaks to me.

Number Four: Saint Lucia

-So I just found this one, and it's different

-So I just found this one, and it's different. Which is nice. I especially admire how it is different without resorting to anything too detailed, which make it hard to draw and probably sew and those emblems are a lot of work, geez. Like, I'll draw some triangles, but you can't expect me to spend the time to actually draw your eagle well *looks at ⅓ of these countries*

Number Three: Luxembourg

- To be honest, this (as well as desperation) is the reason I chose this topic

- To be honest, this (as well as desperation) is the reason I chose this topic. I saw it and was just like woah. Alright, alright, it's just another boring old three-stripe, but look at that shade of BLUE! It looks like toothpaste, and for some reason, at least to me, hard candy. It fills me with happiness.

Number Two: Guyana

-This is another that I've just found and it does a lot of cool stuff

-This is another that I've just found and it does a lot of cool stuff. It has a bit of an optical illusion to it, at least seeing it all flat as a picture like this, because the patterns make the whole flag look like a trapezoid rather than a rectangle if you look at it just right. I like the callback to the traditional pennant flag with the use of inferred negative space by the bold black line which outlines it. Oh hoh! Do you think I have what it takes to be a vexillologist?

Number One: Jamaica

-Everything is done right with this flag

-Everything is done right with this flag. Bright green and black is the best color combination, and although this doesn't quite have it, the yellow brings the brightness which the green a little bit lacks. Honestly, I don't know if lime is truly fit for a flag. I imagine it would look a bit childish perhaps. I don't know because none of these pencil-pushing states had the guts to use it. Jamaica, though, it doesn't rest on its laurels, and thinks up a cool pattern as well. It's an iconic flag.
