Spoken, Word

Lord, oh my Lord. I am blessed, blessed to breathe
Blessed to be.  But I can't help but struggle every now and then
When the tide seems like it's coming in I can't face it head on,
When the storm starts to brew, I can't look it in the eye.

We've been pushed up a ramp most of our lives,
We're getting up there, pushed by some unknown will,
But it's always been a long and hard fight to survive.

You see the ramps slope is getting higher,
The angle is nigh on 90, the sun is at its peak and the clock's struck twelve
But as the song goes "Our time is running out"
I want to express my concern, my worries, my fears, my feelings but I'm
scared that when I begin to share, that they'll become dealings, lose their meaning
Talk to someone who acts a little demeaning.
When you get like that, push past.
The pressure that's mounting on your shoulders is only proof that your shoulders
Shall overcome, they shall defy the odds set against us by that ramp.

And I'm not saying it will be easy, I'm not suggesting that when you take a stroll in the park
That it won't be dark or that path will be swept clear of all the autumn leaves.
This is after all the Winter of our Youth.  I heard a man speak once, he spoke of many things

But they all linked back to one thing: survival. That's what this world is about,
No matter your race, creed, gender, sexuality or faith, I have very little doubt
That you will have to fight to survive. And if you don't, then help others.
We're in multiplayer game, the entire teams need you in an exact position, regardless of recognition.

When the politicians on the news tell us this and that, whether you agree or not, it's time to act
Time to take the world as we know it and change it. Change IT.

IT is the shackles,
IT is the chains,

IT is the history,
IT is the blame.
But YOU.

YOU are the voice,
YOU are the spirit,
YOU are the future,
YOU are the key.

And without your voice, without mine,
Without listening, we'll run out of time.

Lord, oh my Lord, we are blessed.
But my, oh my, I am bloody stressed.
