They told me I was a huge pessimist.

"Have a little hope, Dahlia" they'd say.

"Life isn't a hellhole dahlia, not unless you think of it to be one," my best friend used to lecture.

Well, I wasn't a pessimist, I was just a realist. Awesome things don't happen to me, my life is as interesting as a peapod and guys don't even give me a second glance. I've got no prince in shining sunglasses and the only boy I like thinks I smell like his brother's old leather jacket (For the record, I don't.)

Doing new, amazing things were always the unattainable to me, not because I can't but because of the society I live in and the culture I was born with. For someone like me, having a romantic love story with my dream guy was beyond the bounds of possibility. Or so I thought.
