Cool January wind blew through the small town as three young friends walked down the concrete sidewalk towards their apartment. They had moved and lived here for about a year. Their previous house had been blown up in a previous incident.
Two of the friends lead the way in front of the small group. One was a brunette male who wore a green hoodie and khakis. The friend beside him was shorter with a blue hoodie and light brown hair that stuck up. The most stunning feature was his void eyes. No knew knew if they were actually holes to a void or that he just had black eyes. No one knew.
The last friend followed behind with his face practically glued to his phone screen. He was a very tall ginger had freckles that danced down to his pale arms and he wore bright blue jeans and a green overcoat that covered over a lilac hoodie.

The three barely talked as they walked to their destination. Well, except for the ginger.
"Edd, does this look ok to you? Or does it need a different filter?" He quickened his pace so he could reach the white phone over to show his brunette friend his selfie.
Edd sighed, this had been going on their while trip nonstop and he had stopped caring about an hour ago.
"No, Matt, it's fine." He replied reluctantly as his feet ached from the walk. They had just went on search for an affordable home to live in, but unfortunately they were still struggling with having enough money even for food. Tom, the short male beside Edd, had taken up a small job at a convenience store, but wasn't doing very well due to his short tempered attitude. But it helped nonetheless.

The three were almost to the apartments, but Edd held out an arm to stop Tom from walking and caused Matt to bump into the both.
"What is it?" Matt looked up from his phone with wide blue eyes. Edd pointed off to their left. "Look."

Where the brunette was pointing on the edge of the sidewalk near a building, was a person laying flat on their stomach on the concrete. They wore black jeans and a red hoodie with the hood over their head so there was no way of seeing their face unless the hood was removed.
"It's probably some hobo, Edd. Don't worry about it." Tom grumbled and moved his friend's hand away and started towards the apartments again.
Edd glared after Tom but sighed and didn't go after him. This person might need their help, and so Edd took a pace towards the possibly unconscious person. Matt watched warily.
"What are you doing, Edd? Don't get too close!" Matt hurried after, but stayed behind Edd. Edd saw that the person was fairly alive with their back rising and falling with each breath. So, he was either unconscious, sleeping, or was awake and ignoring that the other two were talking about him.
The brunette inched close enough to where he was almost right on the person on the ground. Maybe Tom was right about them being a hobo. Even so, they may need help. Edd tapped the top of their head.
"Uh.. Hello? Are you ok?" He asked softly. There was no response so Edd shook them a bit by the shoulder. "Hello?"
"M-Maybe they're sleeping.. Let's get back home.." Matt said nervously as he started scooting away from the situation. Edd refused to leave and continued to try and get the person's attention.

Suddenly the person on the ground jerked their arm up and grabbed onto Edd's wrist and pulled. Edd let out a surprised yelp and stumbled forward, but Matt was there to pull him away from falling.
"Hey! Let go!" Edd panicked and stood with the help of his ginger friend while trying to free his wrist. What was more surprising, was that the hand was robotic. It clamped tight on Edd's poor wrist which was slowly losing circulation.
The red hoodie wearer suddenly tugged on the wrist and pulled himself up to standing. It took him a moment, but he finally let go of Edd. The three stood in silence as they stared at each other. The features of the person was still unknown until he pulled off the hood.

"Thanks. I must have drank too much again.. Oh well." His strong accent still shone through his gruff and tired tone. "I'm surprised you even stopped by." He sighed and focused on the two. "You seem familiar.."
Edd's brown eyes were wide as he gazed at the man. Matt was too interested in his banged up but robotic arm.
Edd knew exactly who this was. Memories shot him like a missile, almost causing him to tumble backwards. "T-T.... Tord!"
The Norwegian man blinked at Edd's outburst. "Yeah? That's me.. How do you know?" His mind was slowly sobering as he took in the Edd's features. "Edd..?"
But he was already gone. Edd had took off down the path towards the apartments as fast as he could. He couldn't look at Tord anymore. There were way to much bad memories in those grey eyes of Tord's. Edd couldn't stay. He couldn't believe that Tord was actually there and alive. Alive.
He ran until he came to the apartments and skidded through the front door. The brunette flew up the stairs and went straight to his room. Once in, he slammed the door shut behind him and leaned against it, trying to collect himself again. Though, he still couldn't get the thought out of his mind.
"Tord's alive.."
