Coffee Shop AU

———————————————————————————

(Y/N) was working her morning shift on a Saturday in a cafe called Wake Up Cafe. She usually didn't get any customers, since no one wakes up as early as 7 to get some coffee. Only the occasional runners. The weirdos that decide to get up early in the morning to waste energy.

It was around 7:35, when she heard the bell ring from above the door.

(Y/N)'s POV

"Good morning, welcome to.."
Crap. I know him. It's that guy who can sing and dance on KBS

"Hello, I'm here for the job offer I took. I already had a little interview with the manager and he said I need to see how things work around here before I start my evening shift."

Why did I not get notified about this?!??

"Oh yea, uh alright! Come with me, I'll show you around."

He smiled at me. He looks like a bunny when he smiles oh my goodness.

He looked like he wanted to say something else but my nervousness took over and I just started babbling on how to make different coffee and how to serve customers and all that you do. This guy didn't even look like he was paying attention, he was just staring at me like I had a clown mask on my face.

Jungkook would come and work at the cafe on Saturday and Sunday's evening shifts. It was a nice getaway from all the training and practice and craziness that went down in BigHit. A cute cafe where he could bond with his friendly coworkers and play Notes.

Notes isn't really a game though, just something he decided to do one day without really thinking it would work, and it (to his surprise) did.

One day the coffee machine stopped working, and he was the only one behind the bar at the time. Thankfully, they were closing up, but that still didn't solve the problem that he needed to somehow fix the coffee machine. So he decided to leave a sticky note on it asking for help from the people who work the morning shift, since it seemed like the only good option at the time.

It was a good decision, considering someone actually did fix it, and left him another sticky note.
And that's how it began.
Whenever he would get bored, he would find himself thinking about his sticky note friend. He didn't know them personally, since they only talked through paper, but he knew enough about them to like them enough to go out and actually meet.

And so he found himself wondering at one point, and decided to write his thoughts down to his friend.

(Y/N) was a little late to work today. Not as in late for the opening, but just later than the other coworkers. The ones who were already there, were the ones (Y/N) was quite close to. They were great friends, so great in fact that they even knew not to touch any notes that could be attached to anything, because they knew they were for her.

It became natural for them to see a note here and there, and sometimes when they were on a break, they would stumble upon one and read it for entertainment: to find that they have no idea what that note even means. It could literally vary from crazy pigeons flying into the female bathroom to 3 customers thinking they came into a pastel coffee strip club. And the stories continue.

Once (Y/N) came in through the door and exchanged a few hellos and good mornings, she was already on her way to read some notes that were left for her. It makes her happy to go to work because of them.

Throughout the day she kept finding and reading notes: questions on how she was doing, what she ate for dinner, a funny mini story of a customer who wanted to stay after closing time, tips on how to use the new hot chocolate maker that was shipped in yesterday... all sorts.

When it was her time to have a break though, she noticed a note sitting on the door to the mini fridge in the staff room, where the staff keep their lunch (if they brought any with them for the day). It was addressed to her, obviously, but the note itself held a new message:

'Ok so we've been talking for too long for me to not know what you're like in person or what your name is, so how about I give you my phone number already so you can tell me about the lady who ordered a latte for her 10 year old granddaughter that looks like she's 20? I think I would find it quite nice not having my coworkers hurry me while I'm writing so they can close the cafe.
