It's the year 4957. There are monsters, magical gems, and barriers of life known as aura. To counter the evil of monsters, there were specially trained people called Fighters. They were the people who defended the world from the monsters.

Humanity only existed on a large island which they called Seikatsu, one side of it bordering the Lost Sea, an ocean which whoever enters it never returns, and the other a thick forest known as the Enchanted Forest, home to the deadliest monsters that kill even the best of the best fighters. Monsters only came out to hunt at night because sunlight burns them, but in the Enchanted Forest, it's always dark and shady, meaning they were out hunting constantly.

There are four clans on Seikatsu, each with kingdoms housing one capital building, a large tower where all the main events happening in a clan took place and where the Leader of the clan's lived. On top of the kingdoms, each clan also had small cities to protect their people from the various types of monsters. These clans were called Kyrenta, which was the most rich of the clans, being in the centre of the island with the most land, and had the largest military, Stronto, which was the strongest of the clans at the northern region of Seikatsu, having the strongest military, and being the clan that trained the most famous and great fighters, and Capraint, which was the most intellectual of the clans, was located in the Southern region of Seikatsu, and had the best schools and trained the best scientists to ever live. But there was one more clan squished into the north-west area between Stronto and the Lost Sea called the Rebellion. It was created because of a man named Mario Mancini.

Mario and his wife lived in Capraint and had a son named Chris, who had two daughters and a son with his wife. The oldest daughter was named Raven, the middle child was named Darian, and his son was named Devon. Mario was the most famous adventurer on the island, until one day while exploring a cave in the Enchanted Forest with Chris, he read the saying, "Se no wieh heru sha vashin se ecole" carved into the side of the cave wall. No one knew what it meant, but once Mario saw it, he had a seizure, and if it wasn't for Chris, he would've been killed.

Once Mario was brought back to Capraint, he fell into a coma. His whole family was devastated, until he finally woke up. The Mancini family lost their reputation shortly after because once Mario woke up, he kept saying that Capraint was corrupt and Capraint was evil. Although when confronted about it he made very convincing points, many people who once loved and admired him wanted him dead. The others, however, believed him and fled to make a new clan. This is how the Rebellion was made.

Members of the Rebellion had to meet three requirements. One was that they wore only red and grey to represent themselves. The second was that they were trained to be a fighter. The last was to truly believe Capraint was evil. At first, the Rebellion was a healthy, growing clan, but because of how no one in the Rebellion had government experience, the clan slowly started to die. This made everyone in the clan turn into bandits and thieves to survive, which inevitably made everyone hate them. Since the Rebellion received so much hate, more and more people were convinced that Capraint was good.

But Mario's grandson, Devon, still believed Capraint was evil. In fact, he knew it, because Capraint killed Devon's family when he was only seven years old. Everyone was executed other than Devon and his father, Chris. Devon's story wasn't like most people's stories. Everyone has a story of betrayal, pain, suffering, and most importantly, survival. But this is Devon's story. This is the story of how he died. Well, not exactly, it's pretty complicated. To understand, we have to go back to the beginning of Devon's school year. Devon has grown up since his family was killed, and is now sixteen years old, living in a small town just outside of the kingdom walls attending Capraint Fighter School, training to become the best fighter known and take down Capraint.

It was three weeks after Devon, his new friends Chad Moody and Jorease McGrath, and his cousin Nicholas Mancini had received the same strange letter from Capraint's capital tower. He didn't know it, but this letter was the beginning of Devon's end.
